FREE SHOW WITH SURF/LOUNGE BAND THE REIGNING MONARCHS & CELTIC PUNK BAND THE MIGHTY REGIS!

S.L.A.M.! Magazine (www.slamscene.com) is pleased to announce the return of The Reigning Monarchs (www.thereigningmonarchs.com) to Orange County on Friday, October 28th! Joining the sweater toting, monogrammed mavens of the surf/ska lounge sound will be none other than Celtic punk proliferators The Mighty Regis (www.themightyregis.com) for this one night event!

The Reigning Monarchs have been dropping their intoxicating sonic cocktail of classic surf sounds alongside a smattering of lounge/exotica and a sidecar of ska tunes to packed audiences everywhere. As if the music was not enough to entice, the band itself is a veritable who’s who of talent featuring well known comedian Greg Behrendt (He’s Just Not That Into You, Sex in the City, Comedy Central) on lead guitar and former Letters to Cleo guitarist Michael Eisenstein heading up this pack of swank musicians.

From their appearances at the Bumbershoot Festival to their music being featured on the hit MTV show Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory to a self titled full length release and a split 7" record with surf guitar heavyweight Laramie Dean, The Reigning Monarchs have it all on lock down!

The Mighty Regis have been slinging their own brand of Celtic, folk, punk since 2007 and have never looked back. This seven piece outfit from Los Angeles, CA has made a name for themselves with a sound to be reckoned with. Dipping into a pool of influences ranging from The Pogues to The Clash to The Mighty Mighty Bosstones to Johnny Cash and beyond, their sound is engaging and amazing.

Having been featured on Live! With Regis & Kelly to their stint on the Vans Warped Tour, they are quickly making their presence known to the masses. Coupled with the release of their latest EP entitled WALKING AROUND LUCKY and their charged and raucous live performances, The Mighty Regis are poised to take over in a big way!

The show will be Friday, October 28th at Rembrandt’s (www.rembrandtsrestaurant.com) in Placentia, CA and will also feature S.L.A.M.!’s own Jaymes Q. Mayhem as host and DJ for the evening. The show is free, doors are at 9:30p, and open to all 21+. Be sure to arrive early as seating is on a first come, first served basis.
