Induct Link Wray!

Surf Guitar 101 nation, I would like to inform you all of a new site I have begun devoted to getting Link Wray inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This is long overdue! We might still be listening to Sh- Boom had Link not come along. Link and so many others from the surf/instro genre belong there. Let's draw attention to our favorite music and get those corporate bastards to take notice. I will forward every 500 signatures to the hall. Eric

Guitar Geek Festival January 17, 2009 All-Mosrite Band and much more!

Howdy gang, sorry I don't have a lot of time to be very active on this list, but I thought I would post info about the upcoming Guitar Geek Festival #6 in Anaheim, CA on January 17, 2009. The headliner this year are Buddy Holly's Original Crickets (yes, the real guys, including Sonny Curtis, who not only recorded with the Crickets in the first two years, but he also wrote "I Fought The Law" fer cryin' out loud!). However, there's going to be lots of stuff that should appeal to Guitar Geeks and Surf Snobs! We have (by popular request) Slacktone performing....we have The Ghastly Ones doing a special set of all "eleki" Japanese Group Sound instrumentals from the 60's....and we have the All-Mosrite Band featuring Brian Lonbeck, Venturesmania and other special guests all filling the stage with vintage original Mosrite instruments. Should be a gas! Hope to see you all there. You can find out all the details (and order tix) on www.guitargeekfestival.com.

Your friend, Deke Dickerson.
