Brian
At some point in here, I was looking at the merchandise in the back room and I see what looks like Dave Wronski's blue sparkle jag, complete with 3-way switch and die-tipped trem arm. That's odd I thought. I wonder why his guitar is here.
I had the EXACT same reaction!!!!!!! I had forgotten that when I saw them in Orlando back in Feb., I asked Dave if they were coming. He said they'd be there, but not as Slacktone.

cool pics Kyle,, and or who took them,
thanks for the review Brian,
Norm,
I am still in shock that you played an event I put together.
I will never stop thanking you. sooo cool.
and taken from the Mai tai thread, in the shallow end.
in response to people saying that there is never enough time to talk to others at the convention.
ok before next years convention.
will be a thurs night get together,
at my place,
BBQ and Ran's drinks.
and you guys can talk all night long, and no bands will be playing.
so you can't say.
"Oh I didn't see, and or get to talk to anybody.
so mark your calendar now.
Thurs, before the convention weekend.
sg101 meet n greet, BBQ and rum drinks( beers for those who dont want rum)
at tiki dudes house.
got it? good.

and while I am talking about next years event.
do we like the name of it?
do we want to change it to festival, or something else?
or is "surf guitar 101 convention" ok?
Hmmmmm

You have my vote for "SG101 Convention" since I came up with the idea and concept 2 years ago we should keep the name it works

I like "SG101 Convention"...I mean if it wasn't for SG101 there wouldn't BE a convention, right?
I guess if you wanted to be dramatic you could rename it "SURFCON 2010" or something!
I've been meaning to post but have been too busy catching up with work and home stuff after the SoCal trip...I'll try and find time to upload some pics and comments later this weekend.
Thanks to everyone that has posted pics and kind words!
It was great hearing so many talented bands and putting faces to names! It was a blast to attend and I hope to do it again next year!

I really hated "convention"; I picture guys in suits at the Holiday Inn. But I think we are stuck with it now, and besides, I couldn't think of a better alternative. I don't mind it now.
Okay back to the reviews and reports.

I'm still in favor of Insect Surfer Dave's "Reverb Oasis." If that's too close to Tiki Oasis, then maybe a variation...
SG101 Reverb Nirvana
SG101 Revern Shangrila
SG101 Reverb Saturation
SG101 Reverbia (where Tiki Tena lives)
SG101 Reverb Luau
SG101 Reverberation
SG101 Electric Kool Aid Reverb Test
SG101 Reverb Bacchanal
SG101 Reverb Brouhaha
SG101 Reverb Hanky Spank
SG101 Reverb Fish Fry
SG101 Tri-State Reverb Spree
SG101 Clusterfuck of Reverb
Ah, I'm getting sick of this already...but I agree with Brian--"Convention" reeks of, well, convention...

Agreed. I'd call it SG101 Reverb Bacchanalia though(Roman history nerd).
Bacchanalia were originally attended by just women(way back in the day), so all the fruity drinks would fit right in.

Let's do the planning, etc, for 2010 in another thread. Save this one for 2009 show reports, photos, etc. Thanks!
