I can't remember where I read it, but one musican felt that Morricone and the rest borrowed a bit from Jack Nitzscke.
Don't tell that to the MorriconeRocks douchetards on YouTube, who are convinced he was more influential than the Beatles and Elvis combined.

hey I played the whole 4 song ep on Whorehay's Radiofree Bakersfield show.
http://www.radiofreebakersfield.com/shows/rfb105.mp3
I listened to this show, it's awesome! I think I heard it before, or is it one of a series?
Anyone know of any spaghetti western music Pod casts?
I found Pod casts about spaghetti western films but I want just music.

I, for one, look forward to the next CD full of Volcanos crap.
My old band, The Liabilities (who had an instrumental called "There Goes That Dude" on the first SG101 comp), did a spaghetti-ish tune we called "Hexin' Gun." It got played live a lot but never recorded. The guitar player and I are talking about getting together to start another project, and if we resurrect the song and record it I'll post it here. It was simple, but we liked it.

I believe a few podcasts did some Morricone shows around his birthday in November last year, but I couldn't name any specifically. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
Also, BTD will probably do another SW show on RFB sometime this year.

A SW song I've always enjoyed is Benedetto Ghiglia's Main theme "Un Dollaro Soltano" for the movie "Un Dollaro Tra Denti". The flick was called "A Stranger in Town" for the USA.
Don't know if any band has covered the song, but it is a good one.

Yeah, that's a great song. The soundtrack was one of the CDs I got from CAM a couple of years ago (see previous page). Great movie too, starring Tony Anthony. There was also a follow up called "The Stranger Returns" with great music as well. Check out the opening theme by Stelvio Cipriani here:

whats funny is Jake told me that the song is not a Spaghetti Western song.
but it sounded like one to me, and the Title made it seem so also.
But I'm no Tuck and didn't decipher it thru a Latin translator.

We wrote that song thinking it was a spy tune. We wanted to do a foreign title. And we came up with Uomini Del Pistola. No idea how accurate it is. It is Italian meaning Men of the Gun. Which really doesn't make sense or anything considering what we believed the song to be.

well considering I thought it was a spag wstrn tune, and saw Pistola.
it all kind of made sense to me.
I believe there is a spag wstrn movie or songs called "Hour of the Gun"
and one of those comps on 1 million dollar record used that title.

It probably is a spag western tune, especially since it has that title. We were listening and watching a ton of Spaghetti Westerns and Morricone soundtracks. We wrote that when we were but young lads. 19 or 20.

well there you go,
subliminal spag westrn.
thats actually part of the reason I like Surf.
my dad used to watch a lot of those movies when I was a kid.
and I really dug the music.
so when I saw the Insects for the 1st time,
I really noticed their spag wstrn tunes the most.
