My son introduced me to this guy - not my usual style of listening experience and his playing is inversely proportionate to his dress sense (in other words I like his playing) but it's been a current fascination

tim, buckethead was the guest guitarist at a music workshop i attended a few years ago. he's one weird unit and never said a word in 90 minutes. he had bootsy collins there to speak for him or he spoke with his guitar. you would not believe how big his hands are. it was a rather surreal experience. by the way, i like the melody in the link you posted.

I am listening to Mott the Hooples', "Brain Capers". Before that, I was listening to "The Hoople". They may be having a reunion, or, maybe not. No one is sure yet, not even the band!
Hahahaha!
I'm a wildman about Mott the Hoople! "Brain Capers" is one of my
favotite albums, ever, and probably their most underrated/least
heard albums.
Did you happen to check-out the Ian Hunter & the Rant Band's
DVD/CD, "Just Another Night"? Mick Ralph's joined Hunter's band for
a live reunion at the Astoria in London in 2004 or 2005. At that time
Hunter said the possibiity of a full Mott the Hoople reunion was nil.
I'm glad to hear that they may be reconsidering it.
Have the video, love it along with "Mott the Hoople, Under Review". I also have a 4 CD set called "In Performance". Check out ianhunter.com for all the latest MTH reunion rumors etc...

he had bootsy collins there to speak for him
"Well... Bucketzilla say when he put the good foot down on his big muff, it's just YABBA-DABBA-DEMOLITION-MISSION BABY!!!!"
Man did I go through a PFunk and Rubber Band phase in the late 70s But Bootsy shouldn't be speaking for anybody!
Bootsy is one great bass player - but - I agree, not exactly mouthpiece material. ha ha
I think it's bizarre that Buckethead would actually turn up to teach anyone in the first place - I found his "lessons" here impressive on guitar -but I'm not sure I actually learned a whole lot? Take a look:

a newer song by Jimmy Wilsey,
"Nature Boy" I'm pretty sure its a cover of the song that Nat King Cole did,
that was Written by Eben Ahbez.
