My dad raised me on a diet of the Big name rock bands.
The Who, the Doors, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Neil Young, Cream, etc...
and some surf 45s, instro and vocal.
But every once in awhile he would break out the Iron Butterfly, and just crank it. I was horrified and enthralled at the same time.

Sometimes silence is nice.

This link is kind of interesting. I remember when this guy first disappeared. It was even featured on Unsolved Mysterys.

I read somewhere that In a gadda da vida is the drunken slurred phrase of the band member who wrote the song trying to say the actual title of the song: In the garden of eden... right?

I've been listening to this CD a lot lately:
Seriously great stuff, as a few other SG101-ers have pointed out in the past! The Shockwave are a surf band from Finland with a fair deal of Euro-instro influence. Highly melodic, excellent and energetic musicianship, great sounds - a winner all around, really. In fact, it really reminds me of the Space Rangers, a very, very similar mix of melodic surf and Euro-instro. So, for those that love this CD image, I pretty much guarantee you will also love the Shockwave CD! Check it out, if you haven't already!

Uncharacteristically, I find this song very appealing. Maybe no uncharacteristically, as I enjoy some of the elements that go into this, but it is pretty simple/dumbed down, but it sticks with me.

Well, I tried to attach this, but the software wouldn't let me.
That sounds like rock and/or roll!

actually that whole LP with white bird on it is really good,
I've listened to some of the songs from the other albums by them,
and I don't care for them, but the self titled LP is worth listening to
all the way thru. actually some pretty heavy parts on there.
