Many forum members are aware of an internet radio show I do with my Program Director, Dan Coleman....the show I am referring to is TWANG SHEBANG. Dan and I have been working together for almost 3 + 1/2 years and are real proud of the things we have produced as a team.

Besides TWANG SHEBANG, I also do another internet radio show called "YourSpace Radio". This show is all-genres. But, because of my passion for surf music, EVERY EDITION of YourSpace Radio contains surf instrumental music, without fail.

image

Both of these shows stream from www.myrealbroadcast.com, by the way.

The way Dan Coleman has things set up (and discussed in another thread begun by Tim Ferrell), there is a companion website to www.myrealbroadcast.com where one needs to create an artist profile. That website is www.myrealtalent.com (the same prerequisite for getting your music played on TWANG SHEBANG needs to be followed).

In addition, and this is pretty cool is you ask me, you can upload up to 20 songs on there. NOTE: THE SONGS MUST BE ORIGINALS, NO COVERS. You can set your songs for stream, or make them available for download. You can sell merchandise from there, create blogs, announce shows, etc. And, hey, it's free!! No fees, no percentages, go to Dan or I; it is strictly non-profit.

There is a specific sub-genre website for SURF MUSIC within MyReal Talent, by the way: http://surf.myrealtalent.com/. Note: this is a wonderful website, user-friendly, and has been really pulling in a lot of hits and full-song listens as of late.

I urge surf artists to:

1) sign up and create a profile at www.myrealtalent.com, specifically the sub-genre, http://surf.myrealtalent.com/

2) start uploading your original music there; from this music, I create both of my show's playlists

3) forward me your promo copies of your CDs because undoubtedly I will hear something on your albums that you have not uploaded, and we can work together to get my choices put on http://surf.myrealtalent.com/

4) address to send me your music are:

a) UNSTEADY FREDDIE, 676A 9th AVENUE, BOX 444, New York, NY, 10036

b) schizofredric@yahoo.com (one mp3 per email please)

OK, DO WE ALL UNDERSTAND HOW IT'S DONE?

coooool!!

Both of my radio shows have been down for a couple of months but we are now poised to bring you all some great shows, with some surprises that I cannot yet announce.

The newest edition of YourSpace Radio is edition 41 -- and it's now available -- here are the instrumental artists you will hear on the show:

THE BUCKRABBITS
THE ELIMINATORS (special thanks to Tim Ferrell for his enthusiasm and help)
TERRY 'BUFFALO' WARE
THE POPOUTS
THE DEL-VAMPS

Again, this is a mixed-genre show, whereas TWANG SHEBANG is essentially all-surf instro.

So, thank you for reading this, and I appreciate the artists that have, to date, create a profile on http://surf.myrealtalent.com/ and/or www.myrealtalentl.com, and worked with to get some original music up on to the site

Let me give you the ways and means to hear the show:

1) go to www.myrealbroadcast.com (at the moment the show is there waiting for you to listen); when it's not the lead show, simply click on 'YourSpace Radio' - which will take you to the page where show #41 is ready for your listening pleasure

2) in the alternative, there is a companion website for the show, www.yourspaceradio.com; that site always has the playlist for the current show, and a direct link to the show can be found there as well

So, I thought a thorough introduction to the show and how to get one's music played there was in order; future posts in this thread will be like other radio threads found in SG101 -- that is, when the show is available, and what the playlist is

So my friends and first-time listeners --hope you like what I am doing in my ongoing efforts to keep the twang alive and well

Freddie,

Thanks for being kind enough to profile The Eliminators. The band works very hard to put out music people enjoy. Thank you for recognizing them.

Twang Shebang is a great show. It is a mystery to me as to why it is not on broadcast radio as it is more entertaining than many shows currently on the radio. Thanks for your hard work & all you do to help the musicians & promote surf music.

Thank you for those sentiments, truly....

THE ELIMINATORS are a great surf band; would love to see them live....(one of these days?)

Speaking of the band and TWANG SHEBANG, 2 more trax by these guys will be on the next edition of that show, now in pre-production

As I stated in my other post.........
I just finished listening to the new "Your Space Radio" Show.
Great show Un/F !
I dig that Sol Philcox. That kid can play!
And that story you told at the end of the show....hysterical. But I've seen that same thing happen!!!.....really funny stuff. Everyone here will just have to listen to this show.
Thanks Un/F for entertaining us once again!

I dig Unsteady Freddie, the way he opens his YourSpaceRadio show with surf music, and gives 2 songs to a prophyl- ummm- profile group generally from the surf community is really getting the word out to his listeners that everyone loves surf music, they just don't know it yet!
U/F is a smooth talkin NY'er, (especially in the morning), and gives complete details of the artists and music being featured on his shows. And when he is not spinning surf tunes, you can expect top quality, talented artists from all genres of this vast musical world.
Very Tasty Stuff Freddie!!!

I encourage everyone to participate in MyRealTalent, it's easy, it's fun to watch your charts go up and down, and up... (I can hear Dan Coleman laughing)

And it is streamed, so you can listen to, (or show off to all your friends), these shows over and over again.

I'll just echo my post from TwangShebang on the most recent YourSpace Radio show. USF does a great job with these shows. Check 'em out!

On this show in particular,
I am proud to sport The Eliminators Surf Band sticker on my guitar case. Their Unleashed album is one of the finest in the genre.

Sol’s Freedom Man has that Mystery Train feel. Love it.

Loved that minor key bluesy, loungy, jazzy number by Doc Quinn too!

I dig their dreamy take on the Jonathan King tune, EVERYONE'S GONE TO THE MOON, which they call EVERYONE'S GONE TO THE BEACH, which streams from their MySpace page

hey Rick, my pleasure!!

The 42nd edition of YourSpace Radio is up and running now

It includes a 5-tune-without-interruption selection of instro that I think people in this forum are gonna dig

Specifically, the 5 artists strung together, in order, are:

THE ENDLESS SURFARI
THE CLAMS
THE TRITONS
SURFADELICA
THE TUTTLES

And I am proud that the music heard from SURFADELICA comes from their DEBUT CD, "SURFING ON THE DESERTSHORE" -- I intend to play 2 more trax from the album on the next TWANG SHEBANG

GREAT BAND!
WICKED SOUND!

Anyway, here is how you can listen to YourSpace Radio edition 42:

1) go to www.yourspaceradio.com
when you get there, on the left side, there is a link that says YourSpace Radio, which takes you to the page where the show is; when you get there, click the arrow next to where it says 'LISTEN TO SHOW'

or

2) go to www.myrealbroadcast.com, when you get there, click on YourSpace Radio on the right side, when you get there, click the arrow next to where it says 'LISTEN TO SHOW'

remember -- YourSpace Radio is an "all-genre" show, not JUST instro surf.....

anyway, hope ya enjoy it as much as I had fun puttin' it together!!

UNSTEADY FREDDIE

http://www.facebook.com/unsteady.freddie

if any members of SURFADELICA, or THE ENDLESS SURFARI, THE CLAMS or THE TRITONS happen to listen to YourSpace Radio 42, and are members of SG101,I would welcome your comments here

I thank all the bands that made their music available to me for this show, and for creating and keeping their profiles fresh on www.myrealtalent.com

UNSTEADY FREDDIE

Dear Unsteady Freddy!

it was quite a thrill listening to you talking about Surfadelica and our song on your program! The surf segment is great, all bands are worth listening! I wanted to thank you in behalf of our band for all your support!
Ah, and it was quite funny that Mu Carvalho was also on the playlist. He's not connected to surf at all but he's a quite well known Brazilian keys player and someone I really admired in the 80's. Quite a surprise because we rarely have news on him here in Brazil.

Congrats on the radio show, it's eclectic, funny and it's good!

www.surfadelica.com
www.myspace.com/surfadelica

NO, a big THANK YOU back to Brazil's killer surf-beat band, SURFADELICA Laughing

your CD is wonderful; nice tones, textures, melodies, glissandos galore, and I so so love the song titles!!

my distinct and unsteady pleasure to feature you dudes on YourSpace Radio

I am currently readying the next TWANG SHEBANG and I will introduce 2 more songs from your great debut CD

yeah, Mu Carvalho's sound is clean, happy, upbeat....he seems like a great guy and I suspect a wonderful live performer (that track I played incidentally by him was recorded LIVE)

I try to keep it moving, mix genres that in the end do not seem to set off each other

but here's the coolest part: EVERY EDITION OF YourSpace Radio features instro surf....guaranteed!! Groovy

I am blessed to know you guys (long distance), and I thank you for letting us play your fine fine music on my 2 shows

UNSTEADY FREDDIE

http://www.facebook.com/unsteady.freddie

Hello UnSteady...I like what you have going on and plan on registering in the next day or so. The internet is the best thing thats happened to surf music since reverb and the whammy bar!!

thank you my good man

cannot wait to have you be part of my unsteady world

UNSTEADY FREDDIE

p.s. do you have a MySpace page?

http://www.facebook.com/unsteady.freddie

just taped the next edition of YourSpace Radio

the show is now in the able hands of my Program Director, Dan Coleman

plenty of neat instro and fuzz is on there, including some brand new releases

keep your eye on this thread for updates as this show is edited and then up and running

thanks to all the artists who contributed their music to this 43rd edition of YourSpace Radio

UNSTEADY FREDDIE

http://www.facebook.com/unsteady.freddie

YourSpace Radio #43, is now up and running

special thanks to my Program Director Dan Coleman for staying the course and helping me package another great show

this edition contains instrumental and "vocal" surf, and artists that includes are:

STEVIE & HIS SIDEBURNS
THE RIP CHORDS (new music!)
DAVIE ALLAN & THE ARROWS (new music!)
MISTER NEUTRON (new music!)
EARL & THE LOSERS

as this show is "all genre", there are a variety of other artists that fill out the show

you can find the playlist, and listen to the show here:
www.myrealbroadcast.com (main page, for now)

ultimately, it will move, and you simply go to www.myrealbroadcast.com, and then click on YourSpace Radio, which will take you to the show

the show's playlist is also at the companion site, www.yourspaceradio.com; there is also a link there to YourSpace Radio 43

thanks to all the artists who created profiles in MyReal Talent, and allowed us to feature their music on this edition of YourSpace Radio

hope those who take an interest in YourSpace Radio, will enjoy the show!
