I am pretty sure I'll be there with my wife and another couple (though only for the second and third sets - the first one is a bit too early to make it) - really looking forward to it!!
Rick, is there anywhere around there to get dinner between the sets?
See you soon!

I'm not Rick, but one of my favorite places to eat in Detroit is less than a mile away, called Niki's Pizzeria. Besides some of the best pizza around, they've got a good bit of greek classics to chose from. It's not the cleanest place by any means, but the food is good. Not exactly sure what kind of food you had in mind though.
The address is "735 Beaubien St, Detroit, MI 48226 (Niki's Pizzeria)"

Look forward to seeing you there, Ivan!
There are are restaurants downtown. I can't think of a recommendation in that immediate area right now. Niki's is a good suggestion. There are some food vendors in Cobo Center.

Ivan,
There is a people mover(tram kind of thing) its like 50 cents a ride. It lest you off right at the Cobo center. It only goes one way and is not too long of a ride to make it all the way around.

I would say find a place to park and ride the people mover to Greektown.

There are a bunch of places to eat there, last time I was there I ate at Fishbones. It was great!

There's a now winter storm watch in this area from tonight until Saturday evening. They're actually forecasting snow tomorrow evening and night. If that's the case, we're probably not going to come, sad to say. It's a 220-250-mile roundtrip, and that's a lot of miles to drive with snow on the ground.
Thanks for the eating tips, everyone. In case the weather cooperates and we're there, will we have enough time to take the people mover to Greektown and get dinner between the 6 and 8 pm sets? Probably not, but we won't have the time to eat before the 6 pm set, and it would suck to wait until 9-10pm. It might have to be McDonalds or something....
Here's hoping to see you all this Friday!

Really? I didn't hear anything about this, what is the total area affected?

The entire thumb, all the way down to Ohio and Westward to my county - exactly the area where we would have to drive. It was just isssued. I'm seriously bumming.

Stereotypical Michigan weather. I never rely on the weather men though, so I'm still planning on driving. There's been too many times that I decided to stay home because of the weather forecast, just to never get the storm they were saying was going to hit. If it's time for me to leave and I can't pull out of my driveway, well then I guess I'll be staying home, otherwise I hope to see some of you there.

I hope the weather doesn't put too much of a damper on the festivities.
I appreciate those that are planning on coming anyway.
As Nicholaus said, you can't always trust the weather forecasts.
On the other hand, I completely understand not wanting to drive through a snowstorm just to see a band (I know I probably wouldn't).
Sorry you won't be able to make it, Ivan.
Whatever the turnout, we plan to rock!
