Absinthe is now legal!! I haven't seen what it's going for at stores in SF yet, but on eabsinthe.com you can get it pretty cheap shipped from England. One way or another, it WILL be mine... now I just need to get a proper absinthe spoon/glass set. ~B~ |

are you kidding?! oh i'm so happy. i was reading a while back that some company was coming up and making a type without thujone, or without much.... i love absinthe. anything you have to make a ritual out of is interesting to me. that and any alcohol based on herbs, or using herb coctails typically agrees with me very much. chartreuse, gin, and absinthe are some of my favs. |

Wow, I was paying around $9 a bottle for really good Absinthe in the Czech Republic, I wonder what it would cost to get it shipped here? I don't know though, I personally think it's pretty over-rated. I never saw any green fairies. Seriously though, some of the stuff I picked up over there was pretty tasty, I'll post some photos later. |

Definitely, at 170-proof and more, you have to be slightly crazy to drink the stuff straight. When I first opened the bottle I had in Europe, I took a swig off the top and it damn near took my breath away. Even if you don't have the proper hardware for the sugarcube/fire deal, you should at least cut it with a little sugar and water. ~B~ |
