Wow, this is one great collection of instrumentals. Kind of hard describe the vibe - the tunes are a combination of Morricone spaghetti western, spy, surf, and tiki lounge styles. Nothing very fast, just really good guitar based music.

I know Marty and Company are known more as Country artist, but this album is about as far away from Country as you can get. Incredibly well produced.

If you have ever attended one of Marty’s shows you will hear several surf/spaghetti western inspired tunes and this album is taking the style to another level.

At the moment, the album is only available on vinyl and was a special Record Store Day release. I normally don’t participate in Record Store Day, but when I found out this release, I knew I had to get it, Well worth the hassle of RSD.

Highly recommended.

Nice. I picked up the La Lom and the Jerry Cole,Hal Blaine and Don Cherry record but didn't know about this one. Back to the record store I go I guess

Storm Surge of Reverb: Surf & Instro Radio

I hope this comes out on CD, soon, or at the very least, in a digital version. I have a lot of respect for Marty Stewart. Back in my younger days in Denver, I remember seeing a very slender, relatively quiet guy in my favorite music store. It turns out that was Kenny Vaughan, who was a well reputed player, even back then, but now quite successful. I really look forward to hearing Stuart and Vaughan playimg some Surd.

The artist formerly known as: Synchro

When Surf Guitar is outlawed only outlaws will play Surf Guitar.

After giving Space Junk another couple of listening's, and hearing some of the material in the Noir thread I would think this album would fall into that category.
