I believe that Failsafe and Chicky Run are two different tunes. We used to cover Failsafe by the New Dimensions in the Nelsonics. It's a rad tune. —The Exotics 1994-Current |

Yes I'm all confused, they are different. I just listened to both versions of Failsafe (Original Surfaris and New Dimensions) and Chicky Run by the New Dimensions. I'm torn between Al Garcia & the Rhythm Kings and Dave Myers & (I forget which) for older versions. The first is a really complex whole built out of many simple(r) pieces, while the latter is bolder (and I like the bass). Howver, I've discovered that with a lot of songs what I really like is to listen to a bunch of versions in a row. I think it might be a new form of addiction: multiversion mainlining. |

I'm still pretty new to the genre, but I'm pretty fanatical right now trying to play catch-up. I've been mostly listening to 1st Wave stuff, but I'm just now venturing into some more modern sounds. Right now here's my Ten. Squad Car Eddie & The Showmen Next week this list could be totally different. |
