I mentioned in a previous post that I am pursuing a new full color magazine dedicated to surf in all of its incarnations from historic to modern, with a side of adjacent styles such as garage rock.
I will be working with Jonpaul Balak of the Lords of Atlantis, Tikiyaki multiverse and others and several contributing writers. These include Jeremy S. Grites and David Bagdade, both musicians in their own right who also contribute to my Tiki culture publication, Exotica Moderne. Additionally Matthew Clark will be submitting material and we are reaching out to other noteworthy members of the surf scene to gather material for the first issue.
I am asking that bands that have at least multi track EPs, full-length LPs contact me at info@houseoftabu.com if you’d like your music reviewed or to be considered for an interview. Physical media is appreciated but not 100% required. We are wanting to start selecting material for the first issue and I hope to be going to press early next year. Right now I am shooting to be bi-annual.
If you want to be considered for an interview, bear in mind that I would absolutely need good, high resolution photography for publication.
There are no guarantees you’ll get in as this depends on how many bands or artists contact me, but given my experience publishing, its always good to have more than enough material so the following issues can be released on a regular schedule.
Again, any inquiries or submissions should be emailed to: info@houseoftabu.com
Thanks in advance!
