I second the Catalinbread Topanga. Compact and packs a punch and whether playing through my Kentucky Special or Princeton, amazing tones and depth. A lot of punch for the money.

I've had the Catalinbread Topanga for about two years. I run it on 18v. It's the only reverb pedal I've owned, but saying that, I'm very happy with it.

Yes that counts the old Fender reverb unit very very cool !!!!!!!!

I like the Source Audio True Spring. Both gorillas in my band have them.

This is bad to the bone yeahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!

I would say that the True Spring and the Topanga run a tight race. Both are excellent. I’ve used the Topanga for years, quite happily, and still have two of them, neither of which are going anywhere. I bought a True Spring recently, mostly to access the harmonic tremolo, so it is now on my main board.

The drip is excellent with the True Spring, and the tremolo sounds are world class. The only negative, is that you can use the tap tempo switch for speed, or to turn the tremolo off and on, which means that you have to bend down and press a control button on the pedal in order to set either depth or speed, which is not something I would want to do between songs, with a guitar strapped around my neck. So, I ended up buying the Vertigo tremolo pedal, anyhow. But I still use the True Spring for reverb, and find it to my liking.

You can program it to have quite a number of reverb emulations, although I find the stock tank emulation the most useful.

When Surf Guitar is outlawed only outlaws will play Surf Guitar.

I’ll admit to solely using the EHX Ocean’s 11. I often stack it with the reverb tank on my amp and recently stacked it with another tank off a 60’s Gibson Falcon combo simultaneously . The result was good to my ears, but I also don’t pursue solely classic surf guitar tones. Somewheres between garage, surf and spaghetti appears to be my area. I find live sound is generally dicey and for ease or use, pedals seems to be a reliable option.

I’ll likely convert to a reverb unit sooner than later and rescind the entirety of these comments. Big Grin

I also have a fiesta red SB compact and a few more cheap reverb thingies. On the board: TC Electronic: Gauss Tape Echo, Tailspin Vibrato, Pipeline Tremolo, Surfy Industries: SB Blue Metal, Brownfacer (literally the last one before they changed it to "Blossom Point"), the new Stereo Maker and a Quilter Superblock US.
What I am really proud of though is something I purchased recently:

This is an authentic 1962 Dynocord Echocord (original tape echo and reverb) with matching Eminent amp, all in an original 1962 "flight case". This thing is super rare (I bet even more rare finding it in this setup than the original FRU). It is working as demonstrated to me by the seller, but I need to have it checked thoroughly to bring it up to studio-par as it's of course really old.

Our band both used Topangas at one point, I liked it but found the Topanga ran a little hot, and found with the combo of pedals I was running ended up bugging my ears whenever I used it. We switched to the Source Audio from there. I liked the Topanga reverb, it just didn't work for me personally (biologically).

Currently: Surfy Bear Compact

I have a home brew 6G15 unit that I do adore, but it is a bit large.

Just got in a Surfy Bear Classic that fits just nicely on my 62 Princeton:

that Surfy Bear Classic is totally awesome yeahhhhhhhhhh

Over the years I've had countless reverbs from a '64, '65, & '66 Fender Reverb to a Danelectro Spring King, the Boss 63 Fender Reverb pedal and several others. When I consider both tone/sound and reliability my 1st choice is:
SURFYBEAR CONPACT
