I ask Björn about the Limiter pot inside.
With that trimmer you can adjust the threshold of the limiter.
Clockwise is more compression.

Can you explain this in more detail, please? Is this something someone with no pedal experience can adjust? I have a Brownfacer (Lorenzo told me it's only one of fifty in the world), not a Blossom Point. Thank you!

I wouldn’t adjust it, unless your pedal sounds awful. If you decide to change it, I would mark the original position, so undoing your changes will be easy.

My pedal sounds great, I won't mess with it. Thumbs Up

I think yes you can do it ..mark the original position as Synchro told you.
It is to make your track as loud as possible without distortion, the Limiter does not affect soft passages, only peaks near breakup.

The Blossom Point isn't playing nice with some of my other pedals - so it's an "almost always on" pedal now. Smile

I just keep it at the end of the signal path, and so far, no compatibility issues.

It should always be the last in the chain before the amp. It is not an effect pedal.

For certain. It really is an always on device, and doesn’t act like anything else I’ve ever used. To quote the guy at 60 Cycle Hum; “is this going to be my new favorite thing?” In my case, yes indeed.

Here it is, the last item in the signal chain.

My second Blossom Point arrived a few days ago. I had installed the first one on my main board, and it has not disappointed. In conjunction with a Source Audio True Spring, I am getting a very good Surf sound. But, like any true fanatic, Smile I have more than one pedalboard. I have a simpler board, with the bare essentials. It works well for Surf, and works well for Country or Classic Rock, but it needed that special touch of the Blossom Point.

The signal path places the Blossom Point last, after detouring up to the small black pedal, a Stanley FX Abbey (plate) Reverb. This is a little powerhouse, and drips beautifully, if you are interested in a different flavor of reverb.

Anybody tried it with Quilter? Any sense of using it with solid state amps?

No firsthand experience, but I think it would work. It isn’t an overdrive pedal, so I don’t think that it relies on the amp to react in any certain manner.

I played through mine tonight, for over an hour, and it never ceases to astound me. It’s clean, but sounds like a cranked up tube amp, just short of breakup.

Yes, I use it with my Quilter Tone Block 202. I really like how it sounds, even if a tad bit aggressive. I almost always use my Brownfacer pedal, even with my 6G14 Showman replica. When I opened for Surfer Joe, he said I had one of only fifty of those pedals in the world.

I used it with my silverface Princeton last month at a tiny venue (no drums allowed), it made that little amp sound like a warm, brownface Showman on the edge of breakup. I have some audio of it on my phone if anyone is interested.

To sum it up, the Blossom Point is an amazing pedal that can make any amp sound warm, slightly compressed, and truly awesome!

This is one product that lives up to its advertised description. It just seems to add that elusive character of an amp breaking a sweat, but still clean. I would imagine that it gets along with that Silverface Princeton, quite well. I’ve used mine with amps from 5 watts, to 40 watts, and it works well with all of them.

Chiming in since I just posted a relevant video with the Blossom Point engaged in my signal chain. As others have mentioned in earlier posts, it's a great tool to make your amp get that sound we all love from early Bandmasters and Showmans. This pedal easily gives you the "edge of breakup" tone if you're looking for it. I think it would be perfect to use on a solid state amp. For anyone on the fence, I say just take the plunge. I don't think you'd regret it.

Link to the video for anyone curious. I was also running a SurfyBear Classic and SurfyTrem that day. Really nice combo if you want to travel light.

You can really hear the hair it gives you here on quicker tremolo picking. Not quite breakup, but not quite clean: https://youtu.be/q4IjzKVqZSQ

Nice vid’ and I like the sound.

In support of what you said about being on the fence; I would say the same. It’s subtle, and the first few minutes, I kept switching it on and off, trying to get a handle on just what I was hearing. When Ryan, on 60 Cycle Hum tried it out, he did the same thing, the. He looked at the camera and asked: “is this going to be my new favorite thing”?

For me, it’s always on. If I’m playing Jim Hall Jazz material on an archtop, it’s on. If I’m playing Country, it’s on. If I’m playing Blues or Rock, it’s on, and if I’m playing Surf, it’s just perfect. Play one for 30 minutes, then turn it off, and you’ll probably turn it back on, almost instantly.

My version doesn't have the on/off toggle. So, it's always on Smile

I’ve read that it’s recommended to put after outboard reverb and before the amp, all of you do so?

It should be the last thing before your amp, if possible.
