Yes, thank you, Brian!
Anyone looking to contribute a cover using my drums-only backing tracks in the Downloads Section of SG101 is welcome and encouraged:
Baja, Exotique, Lullaby of the Leaves and Walk, Don’t Run are there for your consideration. I believe others have contributed suitable backing tracks as well.
Or, PM me soon if you have a tune for which you might like me to provide a drum track as a collaboration with you. Have fun with us!

I could do Walk Don't Run or Baja with Drumsdick drum tracks if nobody else wants to. I can play bass too.

Go big, Sam! That WDR rendition switches to a “swingy” beat during the “B”(?)Parts.

Bump Only 10 songs so far. Average is like 26 songs since 2005
I looked at all the past MP3 Compilations and downloads, somebody covered Walk Don't Run or a variation of it, so will go back to my original cover version of a Jan Davis song surfed up a little. Nobody plays his stuff much, he played on a lot of Ventures and Surf recordings between 1963 to 1965.
Been helping somebody cut down two big dead trees the last two weeks so pretty tired right now, hope I can make the deadline on December 14th,

Been plagued by technical gremlins on shore leave. Hoping to get my contribution in the next few days.

I've been steadfastly working on mine. I'm approaching the mastering phase, then of course I'll need to compress it to an mp3 format. Really trying hard to get it done in time.

Sandbug, no need to master it. Just do a good mix and post it. Mastering is for when you have a group of songs going onto a specific format.

DannySnyder, thanks for your helpful direction. Will do. So far i'm happy with the mix, I just thought i might try to add a little bit of compression and very slight reverb to liven it up and help everything sit well together, not a big deal. I'll try to not over think things. Right now it's 638.8MB, i guess i should use a free mp3 converter and see how it goes. In the past i've done a lot of recording, but never took things off my recorder, just never shared my music before. I always dread the computer aspect of music production. I'll do my best. I think I should've started my project in 16bit, but I realized after i recorded everything that i did it in 24bit. Hopefully it won't make a big difference. I'm using a Zoom 24 track, luckily it's user friendly and there are a lot of tutorials on youtube.

Wow that's huge. Something's off. Full wave files (uncompressed) are usually 20-30MB. Unfortunately I don't know enough to figure out what you did to get such a huge file.

Yeah, i thought it seemed too big. The total track time is about 4:20, but i have about 17 tracks of various things, so i do have a lot going on with it. Sorry I'm going off topic from the comp and talking about the specifics of my recording. I'll just start my own thread if i come back with more technicalities.

Sandbug-- what program are you using for recording? Most programs I've used have an option for different stereo files- wav, aif, mp3.

Thanks for your time PolloGuitar. I'm a big fan of you and Danny!
I think i was able to successfully submit my compilation entry, we'll see. My issue was that i was getting the 638MG size because i was telling you guys the file size of my whole recording session on my Zoom 24 track recorder instead of the file size of the single stereo mixed down track. I've since mixed the session down to a stereo master track then transferred it to my computer as a wav. file then converted it to mp3, but it was still too big at 10.3MB, so i used a free online file compressor to get it down to 2.84MB, which i've since submitted along with the compilation form. I hope it worked. Sorry for the baffling numbers, I'm learning as i go here.
Again, sorry for getting off topic. And thanks for everyone's help here. You guys are the best.

FYI SandBug, for best audio results (next time, or if you want to upload it again) -
Not very good to compress an already compressed file (if that's what I understand you did, mp3 to mp3), better to use the original downmixed WAV. Also try to get it as close to the 8Mb limit as you can (from the bottom), your program must have a slider of sorts.
