I'm sure I'll end up reading the book. Wilsey was a mega -talented eccentric guy. My band played and set up a few gigs with his fine 'The Mysteries' over the past few decades, and then I'd call or email him a few days later and it would be usually a year before I'd hear from him again! Then he'd do a few more Mysteries shows around LA, then vanish again for a another year or so! He truly was 'King Of Tone' and each Mysteries show he'd sound better and better. He had a great sense of humor, and loved ribbing me about playing a Gibson and would often slyly interject " So when are you gonna get a REAL guitar?" into our conversations. He also had a funny schtick about introducing whatever bassist he was playing with as ' a former member of Wishbone Ash"! Viva Jimmy ! His music made the world a better place.

Interview with "Wicked Game" author Michael Goldberg:

https://www.dailybreeze.com/2022/07/26/wicked-game-tells-the-real-life-story-of-a-rock-stars-downfall/

I just found that one and another and came here to share them only to see you beat me to it with that 1998 show. Nicely done, Dario!! Love the rash of Shadows tunes they play, never mind the roughly 10 year advance playing (!!!) of tunes that made it on El Dorado (2008).

Here is another from 2000 worth watching:

Also worth checking out, JCW’s Soundcloud page that is still live. Sketches and demos of tunes James said he was working on as a follow up to El Dorado along with a couple other gems.

(Special thanks to Michael Goldberg. His James Calvin Wilsey biography references a lot of shows, dates and online content including this Soundcloud treat).
