Your First Surf Show

Took my bro-in-law (20 years my senior) for his birthday & I knew he dug surf. I walked by Dick out on the street but was too afraid to approach him... After that, the Hypnotic IV were my 1st introduction to a surf music scene that still existed outside the 60's & Satan's Pilgrims. Bob Top

I was at first annoyed that a band was setting up in such a small bar, it's like 50 seats tops. Once they started playing I was amazed at the talent and the style of music. Until that point I really did not realize that other people in my age group liked surf music. Top

Very jazzy surf! Leader/bassist George Scott had never heard of Davie Allan and i was gonna make a tape for him, but he sadly OD'd soon after (to be replaced by Danny Amis ,current Los Straitjacket). We opened up for The Ventures in 1982 ,in Wash, DC, that was great, and the next year they played @ the Washington Monument w/ the Beach Boys! "yes,hope for America', I thought!! Top
