Jeff, really enjoyed your interview and I always enjoy hearing you play.

I finally just finished it. It is SUCH A WONDEFUL INTERVIEW, Jeff! You're a monster, but one of the humblest monsters I've ever seen! I shared the video on my FB page with a very strong recommendation. I really enjoyed hearing every part of that interview, including all the cool stuff on the Guyatone that Hank used in his very early rock'n'roll days, but what I found the most interesting was the stuff about poplar wood for guitar bodies. I believe my fiesta red Strat has a poplar body. It's an '87, but the body is a Fender replacement from '90, and I read that Fender substituted poplar for alder for their AmStd and Strat Plus models at that time for a few years. I remember being disappointed when I found out about that, but that guitar sounds pretty amazing, and it always has, so I know exactly what you mean!

Anyway, thanks for the interview, really interesting! Thumbs Up

I went through much the same concern when I learned my 93 AS was veneer over poplar but once I got rid of the stupid block saddles and put the right pickups in it I found the tone to really pleasant. I would take another one if it came along.

I wish I lived closer the Nashville just to visit Jeff at his shop and do some business with him! Class act ALL.....THE.....WAY!

Very cool interview. What a great ambassador for our little niche. Really enjoyed the history of the guyatone and inspiration for your new guitar. So cool.

Wow, I am completely blown away by the responses to this post and video.

Some of you have even shared the video on your Facebook pages and other internet groups and for this I am so thankful and grateful.

In this cyber based culture we live in there are, in my mind, too many opportunities to just hit a "like" button or glance at a thread but not respond and discuss when someone has worked hard to create something and I get it, we're all busy with jobs, family, bombarded by posts, advertisements. so I hope you'll understand just how appreciative I am of all of you not only giving up 45 minutes of your time to watch but also for taking time to comment and say such encouraging and kind things.

Thank you for allowing me and Crazy Aces to be a part of this truly unique community.

Cheers,
Jeff

Damn, next time I'll have to consider a smarter wardrobe, makeup and hair stylist.
Well, maybe just wardrobe and makeup, LOL.

Cheers,
Jeff

Late to the game here, but I have to agree with all the comments already posted. It is a great show! Thanks for posting it.

If anyone is interested - Truetone just posted additional playing (no interview/talking) from the video that was edited out on the original.
Some is the same but there are a few extra sections or themes.
There is some clean tone playing with the '59 Guyatone LG-50 like the one Hank Marvin used with the Drifters where you can hear how pretty these guitars sound.
O.K. I'm going to let this thread die out now.
You've all been so kind.
Heartfelt thanks again,

Jeff

The Jazzguar. The only thing that brought a tear to my eye, when he said he wouldn't be making that. A 25-1/2" scale Jag.

Very happy for Jeff that he's getting this recognition for all his hard work.

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

That was excellent. Good luck with all your guitar endeavours.

Absolutely spectacular! Talk about hypnotic...

BTW, Jeff, when you're playing your Jagmaster, I LOOOVEE all the 'spy chords' you're throwing in there! So very cool!

Yeah, I was wondering what was on the bridge plate too.

Very enjoyable interview to watch and listen to.

Me too. I couldn't ever quite read what the wiggling apparatus said.

It said "surfadelic".

Thanks Ivan.
I'm a sucker for those flat 5's and sharp 7's etc.
Take away those and the vibrato bar and I'd probably cry, LOL.

Nice job to the sticker detectives. The Panic switch is easy to read but the Surfadelic sticker on the vibrato base is harder to see.

Cheers,
Jeff
