I was reluctant to share this as it's mostly about me, not the band but a few friends in the community encouraged me so here it is.
Truetone, the company formerly known as Visual Sound started a video interview series recently and to my surprise asked if I wanted to take part. This is kind of a career retrospect about building, playing, touring and my origins in the business as well as a little bit of playing.
They did a great job on production and I was honored to be considered.
You can skip to 13:24 if you don't want to sit through all the builder and touring talk to where we discuss Crazy Aces.
The slide playing at the end credits is some of my favorite personal playing captured to date, something that rarely happens, LOL.
Hope you find some of it interesting.
Cheers,
Jeff

Taking a break from proof-reading a manuscript of dark subject matter, this is so refreshingly cool and brings a big smile to my face.
Congratulations Jeff - So glad you shared it; what a great showcase!

+1 (glad you posted it here too!)
Neat hearing your journey to TENN, the various jobs, and the best part - your passion for your creations and unique business/partnership you have. I know you've posted about the Model One before, but hearing you talk about it in this conversation was pretty great - love the vision and commitment to realizing it.

Whoa. The full scale jag, and your own take on making a better modern take on what I lovingly refer to as old Japanese junk is just what the doctor ordered.
I wish I'd seen this a couple years back, as I've been heartbroken by some really amazing looking old instruments that were unplayable. When that itch comes back I know who to call.

Good story, good interview. I was great to put a voice with the mental image I have based upon your music and the posts you've made here. There's a calmness to you that was great. So many people that give interviews are failures with communicating. You passed the test with flying colors. Kudos to you !

Watched the whole thing...enjoyed the playing, the storytelling, and about your approach to building. I am not usually one for slide (although I will never turn off a Derek Trucks solo) but I enjoyed that very much, too.
Thank you for sharing and continued success with your craft.

Great playing and great interview- well done. I'll have to watch the entire thing when I am at home, but I enjoyed the parts I saw this morning!

Thanks everyone for allowing me to share this.
Your kind comments and remarks mean as much to me as being asked to do the video/interview.
Cheers,
Jeff

Hey Jeff, I enjoyed watching the Crazy Aces so much in North Carolina last year that I had to check out this interview. I knew there was a little something more going on with you guys. I like when you mention that the Nashville cats aren't gonna get the flashy guitar bits watching you play but then you fire off a nice face-melter towards the end. Good stuff! -Marty

I finally just finished it. It is SUCH A WONDEFUL INTERVIEW, Jeff! You're a monster, but one of the humblest monsters I've ever seen! I shared the video on my FB page with a very strong recommendation. I really enjoyed hearing every part of that interview, including all the cool stuff on the Guyatone that Hank used in his very early rock'n'roll days, but what I found the most interesting was the stuff about poplar wood for guitar bodies. I believe my fiesta red Strat has a poplar body. It's an '87, but the body is a Fender replacement from '90, and I read that Fender substituted poplar for alder for their AmStd and Strat Plus models at that time for a few years. I remember being disappointed when I found out about that, but that guitar sounds pretty amazing, and it always has, so I know exactly what you mean!
Anyway, thanks for the interview, really interesting!
