Actually, there’s a Llama farm within a mile of here, but one doesn’t see them often in the US. I have four males left, down from five. My wife and I got them about 18 yrs ago to pack into the wilderness with. We used them all up and down the state of California, packing in the mountains. We had a grand time! Two of the Llamas we trained to pull two wheeled carts. My wife and I would drive our carts around town and people would get absolutely giddy about seeing a llama. Once while standing on the top of Southern Californias tallest mountain Mt. San Gregornio. We had a group of teens arrive at the top of the mountain just as we were starting down. We had to wait till everyone of them took a picture of themselves with a llama. Like my wife and myself the Llamas are retired now. They get occasional visits by the neighborhood children. My youngest two grandsons grew up having them to feed treats to. Top

My earliest years were in the country and the songs of birds were everywhere, it was wonderful.
