Adopted this girl Sunday, so Moose got a girlfriend. Didn't like her name (and she didn't respond to it) so I named her Leilani. I heard it in a Hula Girls song and it translates to Heavenly Flower in Hawaiian. Great dog so far! Moose and the wife's cats like her.

Great name and a great (non surf) song!

I still love this awesome thread!
I've been bird watching again this year and while these aren't my pets I bet some of your pets (and mine, yikes!) would love these little feathered creatures.
It's been a busy spring here. I followed a brood of Robins that nested in our bird feeder (2nd time in two years) all the way to fledgling and was able to track the fledglings for most of the two weeks it took them to develop their tail feathers and observe their flying "lessons".
Now I'm keeping an eye and a spotting scope/binoculars on this brood of Cardinals. One hatched, one to go.
It's fascinating listening and watching to the communication between the male and female mates and also observing the behavioral variations among breads.
Yeah, I'm a geek, but many of you already know that.

Cheers,
Jeff

Good luck with the Robins, Jeff. Unless something untoward happens, you'll have them now on a repeat basis. They will return to areas & yards where they feel safe & have nested before. They get kind of territorial & keep many of the non-songbirds away. (We've got lots now after I dumped a mag full of airsoft into the butt of a semi-feral cat a few years ago, which they and a couple of bunnies in the area seemed to appreciate.)

This is Lynn, my Lynx-Point/Tabby-Point Siamese. She is about four months old in this photo, and will be five months old on 05/04/18. She's quickly growing into a wonderful pet and companion. Beyond that, she seems completely comfortable lying on the chair when we have band practice. Today, as with every morning since I brought her home, she wakes me up by nuzzling my hand.

That she is. And she counts on her looks to extract her from trouble.

Hey can you post any recordings of these little things? It’d be neat to hear them too over here!
