PLEASE do!

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

Most of you will recognize my daughter, Corradina. She's as enthusiastic a music fan as anyone I know. She's very proud of this T-shirt. I'm very proud of her. She's wanted to meet all of you for a long time. I can't bring her this time, but I'll try to bring her next year.

Is that hotel within walking distance of the show?

Is that hotel within walking distance of the show?

Yep, it is; it was close to the Casbah, but it's even closer to the Motorco.

I will hopefully have the link for tickets ready by Tuesday, if not sooner. Still working on a deal with the Duke Tower People (they're a bit tricky to work with, as they don't check their emails, and prefer you meet them in person rather than just blab with them on the phone).

PS--there is likely also going to be a slight lineup adjustment in the near future, as it was recently brought to my attention that we're missing a band that agreed to participate. This is totally my fault, and I'm trying to rectify the matter.

Update: The ticket link is now on the first post of this thread. Git 'em!

Also, due to that previously mentioned goof on my part, we've added one more band, which brings the 2014 total to Twenty-Eight bands in one weekend--a new Instro Summit Record.

My wife was a tour manager/production assistant for years and I've seen what she's gone through to set-up festivals, advancing and such and all I can say to Crispy is you have my utmost Respect!

Crisp is just plain............DA MAN.

Traditional........speak softly and play through a big blonde amp. Did I mention that I still like big blonde amps?

For those who do plan to stay at the Duke Tower Condominium Hotel, it's really a good idea to call them (1-866-385-3869) to make your reservations. Their online reservation system seems quaintly disconnected from their front desk.

Okay, the Rooms at the Duke Tower Hotel are now under the Instro Summit banner. Call either the number Noel mentioned (866)-381-3869 or (919)-687-4444. They take AAA and AARP discounts, and any room reserved before March 1st gets another five bucks off the nightly rate.

Most importantly, let them know you're with the Instro Summit. For every 12 rooms the Summit reserves, we get another 5 five bucks off the room rate for everybody. If everyone had followed this procedure last year, all the rooms would have been 15 bucks less, so be sure to drop our name!

I'm also putting this info on the first page, in case you want to deal with this later. I currently have 10 rooms held under the Instro Summit name through April 10th (and yes, they'll give us more if we need 'em).

I'm having issues with the computer today, but I'm hoping I'll have the Instro Summit Raffle pages set up and ready to go before the day is up. I'll post here when things are in order.

Knee-deep in promo stuff right now; courting a few late-arriving sponsors, getting our posters and other promotional goods in order. You know--the boring stuff.

One thing I haven't mentioned here is our annual raffle. This year we're giving away one of them Eastwood California Rebel guitars (it's pretty cool, and really really light!) A VHT Melo-Verb pedal (spring reverb and tremolo in one box--a pocket Rick Miller!), and of course, a year's supply of Utz potato chips (or pretzels, if you're so inclined). More prizes to be added soon, I hope.

Tickets are five bucks each, or six for twenty. For those who want to enter but aren't going to be there, no worries; we'll ship prizes anywhere in the US (Out of the Country folks will have to pay for shipping). Simply contact me at instrosummit@gmail.com, and I can have you pay for your tickets via Pay Pal.

Well, I am going to be attending this event. I plan on seeing all 28 bands and entering the Link Wray solo contest and the Rumble play-along too.

A few questions...are there going to be plenty of seats at this venue? What's max capacity?

During the Rumble play-along, does every guitar player get their own amp to play through or how exactly does that work?

Are there going to be any pre-parties or late-night after-parties/jam sessions with some of the bands?

Lastly...are there going to be any guitar vendors at this show and if yes, which one(s)?

Thanks!

Hi, I'm Gellert, guitarist for The Fintastics.

sax, i can answer two of your questions. everyone doubles up on available amps for the rumble play a long. bring a small practice amp if you want.

this goes late into the night or early morning so i can't imagine a late night after party, but then, i'm old. Big Grin

  1. Mom answered very well on the Rumble Jam.

  2. Honestly, as nice as pre or after parties sound, this thing is so jam packed that there really isn't time. As it stands, it can be difficult to even keep everyone in there for the final band each night, as there are usually 6+ hours of surf bands leading up to that.

3.Depinto Guitars has been there the last few years.

THE KBK ... This is the last known signal. We offer Sanctuary.

FWIW, I build guitars for a living and will have a few at the Summit that anyone is welcome to try out, play in the set etc.
We will probably have a bass as well.

And I bring a demo Quilter Aviator Ultralight Eight and MicroPro-200 8" for anyone to play.

Last time I was at Motorco, they had some tables, the bar and these bleacher things off to the side, but it's pretty much a standing room like most joints. Capacity should be more than enough, considering the other two places this has been held (speaking completely unofficially, though).

Thank you for the answers! I am really looking forward to this, although I hope there is plenty of seating because the thought of standing for 6+ hours (12+ on that Saturday) isn't very appealing.
