Noel,
I finally got around to watching the videos.
You did great!
I love your tone on Sealed With A Kiss and Rumble captures the original spirit of the song for sure.
You sir, are well on your way
Now the heck with this fusion stuff, start yourself a Surf band! LOL

... And speaking of whom - Bob Spalding has to be one of the classier cut of people on this planet - friendly, supportive - just a genuinely nice guy. I got to accompany him on "Mexico" and share lead guitar with him on "Blue Dawn". How may of us ever get to play a song alongside with its author?
Bob lent his talents to every group's set.

In all, it was "Play Guitar with the Ventures" redefined. This event hopefully happens again next year. If you can make it to the East coast, it's worth the trip.

They always say "It didn't happen if there's no pictures." Well, here's the proof. Really sounded great, too!

Noel,
That's a cool picture, Noel. Thanks for posting it on the forum.
Bob and I rehearsed this tune - "Mexico" - a few minutes earlier in the parking lot.
In the course of conversation, it turns out Bob used to do what I do for a living. So we rehearsed "Mexico" while we were talking about IBM mainframe computers. Strange but true.
The guy on the left looking on is Steve. He is one hell of a musician - plays guitar, bass, and drums. He was part of my pairing by the organizer.
He definitely made me sound better than I should have.

J Mo'

Thanks, J Mo'. All I did was post the pic. Dennis Cote took this picture and lots more that he's posting on the Fan Fest Facebook page.
