I'd say...just keep playing... I'm sure you'll run into some folks near Dover or Altoona, or Baltimore or Harrisburg...or even Rockville... just keep playing and working on what you like to do: covers, originals, whatever...

don't give up yet...you're really just getting started...

I did the same thing Noah did. Wrote and recorded a bunch of songs and put up an ad on CL. Found my drummer in the first round of replies. Gave him a cd of the stuff I did and he dug it. Our bassist happened to be walking by after the drummer and I jammed for the first time.

having some finished, or even mostly finished songs makes a big difference. I was able to get guys who liked what I was doing already and added to it instead of trying to change things into another band.
