This link is just what I wanted...

I would be honored if you would add KFJC to your map. At Foothill College in Los Altos Hills. (Although I do not think the college cafeteria is quite up to Canter's..actually it is not up to most anyplace, pretty terrible. Hmmm, must plan August LA eating schedule.)

THANKS!!! Mary

I believe Danny and Sean will be sharing a room right next to us, Brian, so we'll probably spend basically the entire 48 hours with them! Can't wait!

I'm not sure how you know this, but odds are we won't be in the room I'm booked in now, as I got a single and now we need a double. Though if there are no doubles, we may have to get a cot or something.

48 hours with me, boy aren't you lucky. Oy Vey

I think I added KFJC Mary. The first time I tried I think it tried to add the location of the transmitter tower? Way out in the hills or something weird. Ha.

All of you with reservations at Don's, call in soon to confirm. I just called to change to a double (which I couldn't do) and they realized they forgot to add my name to the roster, even though they had it down as a reservation. Whew, that would have been ugly.

Danny, I didn't mean the room RIGHT next to us - I just meant we were all staying at Don's.

We ARE!! I'm certainly looking forward to it!

And thanks for the heads up about the reservations issue - I just called and confirmed.

Once again Brian,
Thanks for your help on that.
Hopefully it helps people navigate
The weekends festivities and the So. Cal.
Freeways.
Give yerself plenty of time.
Traffic can be nasty sometimes.
And the earlier you get to a show.
The more time you have to talk to
The bands or other surf fans.

Jeff(bigtikidude)

Jeff--

How bad is the weekend traffic between the venues? Any particular areas that are heavy? Also, how is parking at HB on Sundays?

Sean, maybe I've been lucky but the traffic hasn't been bad in the last 4 times I've been there. And I even drove up from San Diego 3 times. But like Jeff says you never know how it is going to be.

My parking experiences at the pier: either you have to get their very early, or just pull into a parking garage and be done with it (I got this tip from Tim - HBKahuna). Otherwise you spend lots of time looking for street parking inland. You end up paying $15 for the day in the garage. If you are staying at Don's maybe we can carpool down there.

Travel from starting gate to after party is about
10 miles or so. About 30 min. Streets is the best way.
The key to travel in So. Cal. Is knowing where yer going
Ahead of time, then going and getting parking ASAP.
Also stay close to the shows. Don't get a motel near
LAX airport. Stay in OC and drive to motel at night.
Avoid the 405 freeway if at all possible.
It sucks period.

Note: Dons turf motel, 1 block from the starting gate,
is 3/4 booked. I suggest booking ASAP. 562-431-6563

Parking at Huntington Beach isn't bad if ya get there early.
I suggest ya get there by 10 am. Then grab a bite on Main Street
If you need breakfast, and haven't eaten yet.
But pier show starts at 11 am sharp.
Penetrators set is first.

Parking in the lot by the pier is 15 bucks for all day.
Or you can park in-land about 5 or more blocks
For free.

If anyone has any more questions,
Please ask away.

I'm up for playing a song or two in the Member's Jam this year.

Are the El Caminos only playing 2 shows? They are not playing at the pier on Sunday?

Yup, unfortunately.
Being a late addition,
I was able to squeeze them in the convention.
But I can't get more time for the pier show.
