Treble boost is a great vintage effect that is so much overlooked these days. While the 'Nauts and 'Tays may not have accessed them so early on, lots of 60s guitar sounds depend on TB. The Ventures live in Japan recordings have a very treble-boosty sound and I cop that "Driving Guitars" sound with Hallmark p'ups & Rangemaster clone.
When I want more punchy, drippy reverb I also switch that device on.
