I regret to say that I'm leaving the Coconauts. Quite honestly, in the 20+ years I've been playing surf music, this has been the BEST band I've ever worked with. Add another 10 years onto that playing music in general, and they were STILL the best band I've ever worked with.
So, I'm packing up the Jazzmaster, the reverb tank, and the Showman and heading out to Virginia, Caroline County to be exact, and I'll be looking for musicians who want to play surf. Please contact me if you live in that area or know someone who does.

Hey Matt,
You might try Casey from the band 3rd Wave.
They're the only thing close to a surf band I know of currently in Richmond.
They were looking for a guitarist a while back.

Hope you can get something going down there.
Richmond needs some more surf bands.
In the 12 years we've been around we've only played once in the Richmond area, which is pretty weird because we're not really that far away.

Matt- catch up with Dom at Populuxe in Colonial Beach. He has a soft spot in his heart for surf bands. His shop is a fun place to play.

I'm a little north of there in Woodbridge but I'd be interested in playin some surf music. Check out my videos on youtube: "Sunnybuck Safari - Medio Camino, No Surf," it's just me playin bass and guitars with some drum tracks.
