I'd like to try to revive the IRC chat sessions. If you'd like to chat in real time with your fellow SG101'ers, discuss the latest shows and music, work on the wiki together, watch YouTube videos, yell at me for stuff I wrote, or just hang out, please join us.
The first meeting will be Sunday, January 20th, at 4pm Central time. I'll put the event on the calendar, and that way if you have your timezone set in your profile, you'll see the correct time for your area.
I realize IRC might be a bit of a technological barrier for some, but we are here to help. If you are new to it, please check out this wiki page which has instructions for installing a simple IRC client as a Firefox browser plugin.
Thanks and see you then!

Ok, the event is on the calendar. We'll try to vary the day and time now and then. Hopefully we can attract some friends from outside the US as well.

It's a date!
I highly encourage everyone to make time for this. We regularly use to chat most every night a few years back. Oftentimes well into the night.

It does sound like a great idea. But I am a luddite about computers these days and I'm not even using my own yet. Once I have a PC I can configure as I like, I'll try to get into the IRC.

Do it man! Brian's instructions in the Wiki are step-by-step. Be there or be a sax player!

I'm a luddite too but If I'm around at that time (11:00am local time I understand) I'll see if I can get it to work.

Well, I can't set this up on any of the borrowed PCs I use. But as soon as I have my own again I'm there. I really didn't expect to have so much trouble keeping up with everybody and everything without one.

Does Explorer have a ChatZilla add-on?

Well here I am and I tried getting the chatzilla icon in firefox, but I can't get it to work and I can't see the chatzilla whatever thingy in the add-ons window. So that confirms my luddite status for now. I can't see any cZ icon in the upper right of Firefox, so I don't know what went wrong there either.

You went here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/chatzilla/
Hit download? Then in Firefox I believe the next step is that you have to enable it in the "Add-ons" portion of the browser.
Then you should be able to hit the #ShallowEnd shortcut in the IRC Status window of our website.
That is how I remember it anyways.
I'm using a Google Chrome extension called Mibbit. Not as user friendly.

Cool I managed to login but I'm either too late or too early cos I appear to be the only one home. L8R

You got closer than I did, Pete. It will probably have to wait until I get a PC of my own again that I can configure for what I need to do.
