Permalink Weekly IRC Chat

New Topic
Goto Page: Previous 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 Next

It seems that after a bit of a resurgence (sadly just before I was able to be there) the weekly IRC chat scheduled for Sunday evenings has fizzled out.

The question was raised whether Sunday nights are not the best time for this after all, or if the lack of participation is temporary and it's still the best compromise?

Would something mid-week be better? Ten o'clock to midnight on Wednesdays is too late to play here at home and there's always a book to read. I'd rather be in the IRC. But I know that's kind of early for folks on the west coast. Maybe that's the crux of the matter: getting too late out here in the east is just getting available out west?

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

Well technically I bumped this old thread to see if there was interest in a weekly chat. The few recent chats we had I explicitly put on the calendar. The last few weeks we haven't actually had anything scheduled.

Sunday night isn't very good for me.

Oh. I didn't know that. But would mid-week be any better for more people?

Maybe the question is really, would mid-week be better suited to the people who want to be in a weekly chat?

Midweek is better for me, unless it is Wednesday. Sunday is unfortunately no good due to practice.

Any weeknight at all is good for me.

For me lately,
It's kinda hard to get time on a real computer.
And I have no want to try the chat room
From my phone.

Unbelievably, I'm playing with a bunch of Ventures musicians tomorrow. It's been scheduled for a while and I'm previewing the medley I'm doing in October. Also looking for LOTS of help and tips. I dearly hope someone is able to capture the live stream.

The audio will be available in the archives and I will post links, but there is no internet archive for the video. KFJC will probably do a CD/DVD from the event later in the year.

Uh okay lemme see - Practice makes perfect. A stitch in time saves nine, A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, Don't look a gift horse in the mouth etc. Its probably too late to give tips now if you're jamming with the Ventures tomorrow. Man I wish I was jammin' with the Ventures right now.

I was wondering as I wrote it if I'd be misunderstood. Not The Ventures themselves, but some Ventures musicians; you know people who always play Ventures music. BUT, Bob Spalding will be at the Fan Fest in October and I'm nervous enough as it is that he'll HEAR me play.

Brian, I got a free IRC ap for my iPad. The setup looked pretty straight forward, but I can't get it log in Sad
