Okay. I might go to a Mike Love's Beach Boys cover band show if I could wear this. Are you gonna sell them?

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

You can already get 'em on Amazon:

I listen to a pretty funny podcast called Popdose (they have a great website too). Every episode, they somehow work in a "F**k Mike Love" even if they aren't talking about anything Beach Boys related. (http://www.popdose.com)

Best band name ever! Yes

Old punks never die... They just become surf rockers.

Mike Love has solidified his name in our hearts as one of pop music’s biggest tools when a statement was released that founding Beach Boy members Brian Wilson and Al Jardine would not continue on the band’s touring roster. David Marks—who joined in 1962, a relative newcomer next to Wilson and Jardine—also are not considered as part of the Beach Boys’ live show. The announcement comes from a statement that Love made on Monday, which said that the lineup was only meant to include the founding members for their 50th anniversary tour.

I have to admit I've never been a huge Beach Boys fan, and while I did know there was some internal conflict, I didn't really know much about Mike Love's advanced level of douchebaggery until recently seeing his behavior at the 1988 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions. Wow. Seeing all of this unfold makes me really want to go back and appreciate Brian Wilson's work now. (And I know it's mean, but I kinda wish the rest of the tour is a flop and a wake-up call for this asshole.)

Wow, that was a whole new level of douchebaggery.

I always though Mike Love was a dickhead, but wow that video really takes the biscuit! He's a fine one to speak of harmony! Him and John Stamos deserve each other

Here's a drunk Murray Wilson totally dressing Brian down in front of a studio full of people. It's very revealing, giving great insight into their relationship. It also gives a good view at how they recorded...

You gotta love facebook sometimes. I told Al Jardine this, and he liked it.

That was the most rambling pile of douche I have heard in some time.

I am at odds with this whole 'Mike Love' tour thing. We got one tour of the real Beach Boys. Beyond that, it seems what we are about to get is exactly what the world seems to have accepted as 'The Beach Boys' for decades now, which is the 'Mike Love Revue'. It sucks that this is and has been the reality for most of my life, but such is reality. This doesn't mean that Mr. Wilson will not continue to create amazing music and harmony. It just means he will be lacking a key vocal element.

I wish Brian and the boys all the best with their future music endevors and hope that the three will get together after this for something great. As for Mike...well...Branson, MO always has a place for shells still riding on the strengths of groups that only exist in name only.

Hey, no problem. Just go see whatever band Brian brings with him wherever he goes. Darien, Jeffery Fosket, and the rest of the boys put on a better Beach Boys show than anyone in the world. Mike Love has never been nor will ever be a tenth the musician that each of these guys are.
And for a quick Beach Boys between tours, just hop onto YouTube and check out the Fendertones. Awesome!

Eric

I'm listening to Brian Wilson Live At The Roxy, and I just heard him sing "let's get back together and sue it again"...

Hilarious FlatRacer!
I just finished reading the book "When We Get To Surf City" by Bob Greene. He chronicles his experiences singing and playing Guitar with the Jan & Dean band from the early 90s until a few years after Jan's passing in 2004.
The remaining member formed "The Surf City All-Stars" which is comprised mostly of former Beach Boys members. They still tour occasionally and Dean will sometimes hit the road with them still.
Thought I'd share this, it's all news to me.
