Permalink The High Tides (Canada), Desert Sands

The new High Tides (Canada) release is 8 tracks of an instrumental fusion: surf, spaghetti, with a little bit of Gun Club for good measure. At first listen, I recognized resurrected versions of Mario Pietrangeli's previous band, the Eradicators, but only the first two songs (that I can remember). My favorite track is 6, Stamos Bien Pedos. It's the soundtrack music to an impending gun fight in a hot dry desert saloon, followed by track 7, Los Muertos, the tune that pairs up with the post-gun fight whiskey-soaked ride into the sunset. The last track is another up-beat toe tapper. All in all, I played track 6 over and over. It's probably one of my Mario favorites. If you're a fan of spaghetti western, this CD is definitely for you!

definitely worth picking up.
the production on this is really good.

As for the production values, I'm happy to say it was recorded, mixed & mastered at my very own Downtown Sound Recording Studios, formerly located in Toronto, but opening soon (November 2012?) in Hamilton, Ontario, just a short trip over the border from Buffalo, Rochester, etc.
