Permalink The High Tides (Canada), Desert Sands

New Topic

The new High Tides (Canada) release is 8 tracks of an instrumental fusion: surf, spaghetti, with a little bit of Gun Club for good measure. At first listen, I recognized resurrected versions of Mario Pietrangeli's previous band, the Eradicators, but only the first two songs (that I can remember). My favorite track is 6, Stamos Bien Pedos. It's the soundtrack music to an impending gun fight in a hot dry desert saloon, followed by track 7, Los Muertos, the tune that pairs up with the post-gun fight whiskey-soaked ride into the sunset. The last track is another up-beat toe tapper. All in all, I played track 6 over and over. It's probably one of my Mario favorites. If you're a fan of spaghetti western, this CD is definitely for you!

I got this awhile back,
definitely worth picking up.
the production on this is really good.

Hey Tena, Jeff-- Thanks for the kind words!

The disc is available on itunes:

http://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/desert-sands/id532276116

Or, you can order a hard copy of the CD here, through Indiepool: http://www.indiepool.com/THT1

As for the production values, I'm happy to say it was recorded, mixed & mastered at my very own Downtown Sound Recording Studios, formerly located in Toronto, but opening soon (November 2012?) in Hamilton, Ontario, just a short trip over the border from Buffalo, Rochester, etc.

Thanks again!
