what does everyone think of the original Seymour Duncan Tap Tempo Tremolo pedal ie Shape Shifter

Called Demeter just now for the first time in two weeks, and basically had to start the entire process all over again. Rick started off a little hostile, but then he became polite and very helpful. Unfortunately, he only vaguely remembered my pedal. It looks like I am going to have to buy another one, I've got my eyes on that Fulltone Supa-Trem Model ST-1.

@SixStringSurfer bummer on the whole Demeter thing. I have a Demeter Tremulator and love it --- though I'm not a fan of the 1db boost/presence add on this one (it's my second one and my first one from early 90's didn't have a volume boost that I recall).... the Supa-Trem is based on the Tremulator so I'm sure it would be killer !

I got tired of trems w a perfect measured throb, or trems that dropped my signal level, and especially trems that took over the high end of my signal. So I made my own and sold the fulltone and dunlop I used forever.

Just wanted to give one final update. Demeter sent me a new Tremulator, and it works perfectly. I now have great sounding trem again. They even sent me a cool T-shirt! Thumbs Up

remora1, that SurfyTrem looks like it has potential! Does anyone have any additional information on it? TVTheWiredTurtle, do you have any demos of your new pedal?

According to Facebook, it will be making its debut at the Surfer Joe Festival. Hopefully Bjorn will share some details with us here. Drool

Ditto. THAT's what I've been waiting to hear! And I know lots of really savvy players will giving it the run-through.

Edit: After Surfer Joe it's likely to need its own thread.

Hey guys I just discovered the SurfyTrem is now on pre-sale over at the Surfer Joe Store right HERE. It says "Very limited availability" so get 'em while they're hot! Headbang

Ditto on the appeal of asymmetrical waveforms, Tavo. The beauty of a full-featured Ring Modulator is the LFO which complicates the primary modulation any number of ways.
I've found the Maggie Vibrato pedal's assymetrical waveform very pleasing too. While not strictly tremolo, the Stereo setting with both L&R outs feeding Hi & Lo inputs of a single amp channel creates a rich phasing sound with a noticeable "limp". Modulation of apparent volume occurs because so much of the signal is cancelled by 180° phasing.

I've had the Empress tremolo for a few weeks now and my trem search is over. It has a lot of features, my favourite being the selectable waveform.

I have been testing the Surfytrem prototypes (from raw board to enclosed pedal) for Björn and they are the real deal. As good as a real onboard trem (black AND brownface) and wallet friendly. Check out the links.
