I finally got to try mine (Oly White Jazzmaster) out through an amp at rehearsal today, a month after I brought it back from the U.S.
I put a Mustang bridge on it because I had issues with the strings popping out. I use 9s and I hoped this would solve the problem. It did for the most part except on one occasion the low E popped out. I guess these things are meant to have heavier strings on to put some more downward pressure on the bridge.
Anyhow, it sounded superb. I think it has the best clean sound of any guitar I own. I have never had a "real" Jazzmaster so can't compare but it doesn't really matter to me, what matters is that I love the sound.
Playing wise it was fine too. Neck a tad fatter than I like but I could get used to it. Stayed in tune quite well. I put Gotoh tuners on because I don't like those Fender ones it came with.
The scratchplate wasn't perfectly cut as some others have found but I don't consider that a make or break issue.
Overall quite happy and it was worth dragging it back from the States with me. They have started to appear in music shops here in Australia, my local one sells them for $600!

Anyone who has any experince with these ( guess a lot of you have)?
I was thinking of upgrading my Squier Jag, but I`m not sure what pick-ups to chose.
Any suggestions?

I put one of those in my MIJ Bass VI reissue.. it's far superior to the ones that came in the bass. cloth over plastic insulation leads, fully potted. good lead length..
But the seymours in the jag you have aren't half bad. I'm not sure of the sonic differences. maybe someone else can say..
