Hey everybody,
interesting to see this thread revived...
I was at the gig this was taped at, together with the guys from my band then (spektrophon) and some other guys. So the situation was not THAT bad as it is seen in the video (there were 5 guys dancing instead of one ), but is was definetly a bit surreal.
In general the attendance for surf shows here in Berlin actually better than in many other places (from what I hear, it could of course be better...), and the "dancing guy" from the video is among them most of the time. I bet anybody, who is in any way connected with surf music here, recognizes him instantaniously, when they see the video. He's also a really nice guy.
As for the low number of views: The video is also on youtube, so I guess more people have watched it there?
In the meantime, Ralf Kilauea has left Los Apollos, and since my former band split around the same time, the remaining guys took me on as their new guitarist, which was at first is kind of intimidating, considering that my predecessors (the other being Kahuna Kawentzmann) are two of the most influential surf guitar players of Germany.
Anyway, we already played some shows (one of them with the Kilaueas) and recorded some new stuff, which will hopefully be released soon.
Stay tuned!
