Does Antigua mean vomit in some other language? That thing is downright gross.
I'd think if you were going to spend a decent amount of money on a musical instrument you'd want it to look like it wasn't soaked in bile.

Warren, you'd be surprised... bile is VERY hip these days.
Nothing says style like digestive enzymes and stomach lining.
Hmm... "surfing the bile"..... sounds almost catchy.... I'll stick with Sea Foam Green....

I had a tube up my nose and into my stomach that collected all of my bile(and other goodness). That thing sucked. I had a dream, or so I thought it was a dream, in which I removed the tube during my "sleep". Hurt like hell and it wasn't a dream and then it had to go back in and that hurt so much more.

I voted for Lake Placid Blue.

How about foam green, Klas? It's much less common than surf green, but I think it's better looking.

I voted for Olympic White. I think it is the best looking all around, though I recently got a '57 reissue Strat in Surf Green, and I think it looks good, too. When I get my Jag, though, it has got to be Oly White!

I would be prone to agree with you guys had I not seen one of those in person last Saturday (Gary from The Intoxicators just got one)...I'm one of the (apprently few) antigua fans now.

Sunburst does look good during those outdoor gigs. Still #1 is oly white here.

I've seen it "for real" too, a friend has a strat in antigua strat, or as I like to call it, diarrheaburst. not my fave, as you'd have guessed. I've also seen blackburst guitars and silverburst.... also not very pretty.
the problem with sunburst is that the newer sunbursts just don 't look that good - I'd like to know if that's how the vintage guitars locked when they were new?

Olympic White gets my vote for classiest (good point, Jake), but there's too many other great options to have one favorite--older Sunburst finishes, Sea Foam Green, Fiesta Red w/tortoise shell pickguard ... hell, my vote is for all of them.
Except Antigua.

That unspeakably horrid picture
So where's the vomiting emoticon? This one :oops2: doesn't really convey the act that picture inspires, and even though this one has the right color, it's way too happy.
Did the search for that make you want to claw your eyes out?

No, I remembered that picture from my Fender Forum days. It was discussed a lot there.
I think I have also seen Antigua Jags and Jazzmasters but those are pretty rare. I'm not sure when the Antigua craze hit, but I think Jaguars were probably on their way out around then. Don't quote me on that though.

I would bet the Antigua era was about 67 or so. but I could be wrong, and it be the early 70's I remember an aprtment we lived in had that horribel green refrigerator, and carpet.
Who used those?
Country players? hippie bands?
I have a craving for tortilla chips and guacamole.

Actually, that pic might come in handy. You could threaten to post it if discussions start running way off-topic.
Also, I can't help but notice that Antigua isn't one of the poll selections.

A bit surprising to see that one of the most common colors for Jaguars and Jazzmasters, Candy Apple Red, doesn't have a single vote yet.
