I am sure that Lee Joseph of Dionysus records will have a bunch of these
cds for sale at the SG101 convention.

Jeff(bigtikidude)

I saw a great review of the CD in Vintage Guitar this morning. Nice!!

That's cool, I'd like to see that,
there is also supposed to be a add for the SG101 convention in there.

GREAT news!! I knew this was supposed to happen, but it's one of those things where I was waiting to see it before I'd believe it. What's the issue, Steve, do you know?

Thanks!

I just got the issue yesterday so it must be the current issue, it has the hack from Creed on the cover.

Thanks, Steve. Sean received a scan of the review, and sent it to me. Here it is:

Good review! They single out the Thunderchiefs (very trad), the Barbwires (trad with a progressive edge), and Daikaiju (fully prog), so a very nice cross-section of the CD and the current surf scene. Nice! thumbs up to Vintage Guitar! Let's see if it ends up drawing anybody new to modern surf music.

Awesome for sure! Are you expecting reviews from any other major guitar mags?

I just listened to this album for the first time in a while. It is still absolutely amazing! If you want a broad sampling of the current surf bands of the day, you must pick this up! I'll repeat the track list here:

Drool

  1. El Supernaut: Wonderman from Intiƶ
  2. Los Twang! Marvels: Sea of Glory
  3. El Ray: Cherry Cheeks
  4. The Coffin Daggers: Borgo Pass
  5. Aqualads: Washout
  6. The TomorrowMen: Momentium
  7. The Phantom Four: El Palmero (previously unreleased)
  8. Atomic Mosquitos: Mosquito Royale
  9. Los Kahunas: 7 Mares (previously unreleased)
  10. The Bambi Molesters: As the Dark Wave Swells
  11. The Barbwires: La Caja del Muerto
  12. Frankie & the Pool Boys: Ewa on the Beach
  13. The Thunderchiefs: Estratosfera
  14. The Secret Samurai: The Khazar
  15. The Madeira: Witch Doctor (previously unreleased)
  16. The Eliminators: Walking Tall
  17. Surfer Joe: The North Swell (previously unreleased)
  18. The Deadbeats: Karabasan

Thanks, Brian! I just listened to it myself for the first time in a year or two just last month, and thought it still sounds great!

Jeff, the last I heard the CDs were all sold out. But I believe it can still be downloaded.
