CD's are here and I started shipping them out today. Please be patient if you're waiting for your copy - I have well over 100 packages to put together and send out, to all the folks that pre-ordered the CD, Double Crown Music Club members, participating bands and our distributors. Thanks so much to Guy, Noel and Matt for the nice early words about the comp! i'm very glad you like it. Thanks also to all of those that have supported the Kickstarter campaign so generously - it's really blown us all away! We know we have a major uphill battle to get non-surf-fans to check out modern surf music - but somebody has to try! We think it's worth a shot, and the funds raised so far will make this possible beyond our wildest dreams! I also want to acknowledge the great team behind this entire effort - besides Sean and myself, Ferenc has done a fantastic job with the design (also transferred to the website), Brian has done a fantastic job (with two colleagues) on the Brave New Surf website, and Danny has done a fantastic job with the Kickstarter campaign and helping Sean out with some marketing. We've also had some great advice from a few other SG101-ers, and in fact, the notable thing about this entire project is that it's really an SG101 project through-and-through and wouldn't have existed without this great forum. Thank you all! My hope is that we can get most SG101-ers to get behind it, too, and use the CD and the BNS website to try to expose friends and family to modern surf music. THAT'S the primary goal of this entire project. We want to draw more people into this scene and raise the level of consciousness about the greatness of music being made by new surf bands. In order to do that, we really need all of you! Please check out the CD (if nothing else, just check out the player on the BNS website), and see if you can get behind this entire effort. We worked to give you a tool - a single CD - that could be used to explain to people why you dig modern surf music. Hopefully you will agree that this CD does that.
