Ty, your inbox is still full, and I still want to by an Ennio Trilogy and the blem chassis is just fine. Is it too late? Thanks. —This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got. |

Blem case is now spoken for - Thanks, Noel! Still taking orders, as always, with about a 2-week lead time for both versions of the Ennio and my newest pedal, the Takezo Overdrive! — |

Wanted to let everyone know this is a terrific fuzz pedal. Has lots of great sounds in it. I'm having a lot of fun with it. Thanks, again, Ty. —This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got. |

Much thanks for the kudos, Noel! Always happy when an Ennio lands in a surf-loving home, and looking forward to hearing some clips of what you and this little buzzsaw of ours get yourselves into! — |

I see this is your first post, Joe. Welcome to sg101! Very glad you're here. I'm real glad you like your Ennio. My Trilogy remains the most versatile fuzz I own. —This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got. |

Hey Joe -- Just sent you an Email and PM... I can add an additional 2 knobs and a switch to the Standard if need be, but there may be a more elegant solution. Let me know what kind of tone shaping you'd like and we'll figure something out! — |

i was reading about another fuzzrite clone and it was all the same stuff with no real substance. for instance with the ennio fuzz you get all the same things the others have like...........
ennio does more for some reason if you change the level its get very crazy and at some points very much like hendrix .......... so seems ennio fuzz is still the best....... joe bonni |

So, you may have seen my Reverb Unit Tube Experiment kit I posted in the For Sale section a little while back. Ty approached me with a trade offer that I took him up on; he got a nice stash of tubes to experiment with and I got a pretty rad Ennio Ultimate Trilogy. I'll start by saying I've liked the fuzz sounds we hear in these circles, but have never gotten very far in reproducing them myself. I've tried 2 of the more commonly referenced pedals for this vibe (Ashbass and Catalibread Merkin) and have never gotten great results. Sold the Ashbass, bought and kept the C'bread because, well, I didn't have to get rid of it and it was definitely better than having no fuzz option. I should also add that I believe the most valuable lesson I learned early on... every single variable matters when it comes to getting the sounds we want - guitars, pickups, strings, picks, connectors, pedals/effect units, amps, cabinets, speakers, rooms, touch, skill, and, and, and. Even what may seem to be 'identical setup' isn't. My fuzz experiences are no different; it is a little bit about preferred tones and sonic qualities the design of the pedal is going for, but I'd offer it is way more about all the nuance in your own setup. With those caveats & disclaimers covered, I feel compelled to bump this thread and give Ty his props. I've commented a while back in this thread about being a big fan of the design. Still true, I think this may possibly be the best artistic embodiment of a pedal and its function of any pedal ever. I just LOVE the on/off LED being the flashpoint of enemy fire coming right atcha! Just look at it - so bad ass! As for using fuzzes... in my somewhat limited fuzz experience, the problems I have had are mainly 3. I ~always~ pick up a shite-tonne of radio no matter what, I never really find the sweet spot of gnarly angry kazoo (yeah, the annoying tinny pitches that causes everyone to cover their ears and make scrunchy face) and the smooth, musical, slightly rounded tones that are pleasing to the ear, and third, the sensitivity of the controls is so severe that the slightest bump of the knob and you're blasted out of control ...or become instantly inaudible. I'm happy to report that with the Ennio Ultimate Trilogy I get no radio on most settings. I can max out the fuzz knob and roll the trilogy knob way back and start to pick up some radio - it is inherent in the circuit of all fuzzes as I understand them, so you can find it here too, but my point is it takes a lot of work to do so in my set up at home so far. And radio signal aside, those settings aren't really the fuzz sounds I'm after anyways. I'm even more happy and amazed that the tones I've gotten from this thing are everything I've heard in my head but could never reproduce before. It has the heard of bees and angry kazoo in there, but it is refined enough to really be pleasing bees and kazoos. The scrunchy face you'd make in response is the one you'd use put the punctuation on the gesture of raised pinky and pointer fingers whilst holding back your middle and ring fingers with the thumb, not the scrunchy face you'd make drinking a glass of milk heavily spiked with lemon juice. My next telegraphed comment... yep, the usable range of each knob is really impressive. On the Ennio Ultimate Triology, a quarter turn or half turn of any knob is definitely a different game, but all usable. This thing covers a serious range of sounds to be sure, but in my previous fuzz experiences, I've had the exact opposite experience. I don't know how else to describe it other than to say each knob has a really wide usable range, not one where usable or not is determined by millimeters of a turn. So there you have it. It is worth repeating, it is all personal preferences, and no 2 setups interact the same no matter how 'identical' they may seem, so your experiences will likely not be exactly like mine, BUT... BUT... if you are looking to experiment with Fuzzes and you have not yet tried Ty's Ennio line, I would highly recommend checking out his Ennio Ultimate Trilogy. It has ended the Fuzz search for yours truly. Ok, shameless plug, you ~might~ want to also give the C'bread Merkin a shot too. Different strokes for different folks and I might know someone who will be selling one soon. \m/ \m/ —Fady El Mirage @ ReverbNation |
