Maybe http://translate.google.com/ ? It says you can put a URL in the box. I used it to translate a Bambi Molesters page once, it worked great. —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |

Hi, its my first post on this forum. Im from finland and its nice to see that you are intrested in finnish rautalanka. Rautalanka is similar to surf but songs are mostly slavic folk songs with twist comp/ surf beat and lots of tape echo. And its true that Finnish language dont translate well with translators you find on internet. |

Hopefully, anyone who listens to my show knows what a big fan of rautalanka music I am! I play along with it a lot when I'm at home. Here's a video of "Magic Carpet," by the Quiets. I also tabbed it out, showing the chords and the lead. I'll try to paste it here. If that doesn't work, feel free to PM me and I can email it to you. "Magic Carpet" is originally by the Dakotas, of "The Cruel Sea" fame, a '60s UK band also well-known for being Billy J. Kramer's backing band. The song "Magic Carpet" was actually written by George Martin - yes, that George Martin! He was their producer. Though clearly there are overlaps, I'd say "Magic Carpet" is simply UK '60s instro music, not really rautulanka (though some original '60s rautulanka bands covered '60s UK instros such as as the Sounds from Finland - most definitely a rautalanka band - covering "Golden Earrings" and "Teen Scene" by the Hunters from the UK - it's all quite interconnected...) —Ivan Last edited: Mar 23, 2012 09:29:15 |
