Forbidden Shores is another Fav of mine too.
I was just a tad bummed that he wasn't playing the Bass VI on it in the video.

That Squonky1 guy has struck gold again. He just posted some HC's vids from 1995, along with some more Torquays.

I made a playlist of the HC vids:

http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=EF7235BB7A265C98

is anybody else having problems seeing the older videos?
I can only see the 2 newer ones that Brian added.

Jeff(bigtikidude)

Hmmm, it looks like he removed them. Sad

I wonder if he is going to repost them with the corrected year on them.

"It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea

average audience at a typical Cads show was between 4-6 people (usually the same 4-6 people). Sounds like Squonky taped one of our more crowded gigs. And I have to say, it was great watching that again! I miss that black guitar...

Man! All of these videos really take me back. Good and bad memories. Kind of melancholy...

Chris is really an amazine player. He still is.

Can't wait to hear if you guys like what we are doing with our new project, Casino 66. It's instrumental, Not really surf but, Were the Cads?

Show soon.

Reverb, It's A Way Of Life!

There is a demo tune "Jacks Jive" on a RFB from a while back... This poor band has been in the works for years.

Thanks gang. When we book our first show you all will be on the list!

Jeff, was that you playing drums in those videos? It's hard to see ya due to the camera placement.

That was definitely Jeff, and he played really great!! Excellent, excellent job, Jeff! Really enjoyed the videos, and loved the drumming.

(BTW, "Forbidden Shore" is a cover of a song "Mind Reader" by a '60s British band The Johnny Howard Group. It was covered in the '60s by an American act, but I don't remember their name now - for some reason I think they were connected to Mike Curb and Davie Allan, though....)

Who'd be embarrassed about being in the Fuzztones?

yeah but its fast and spy sounding,
the Cads slowed it down and made it very spooky sounding.

I found the info: the band was called the Strangers, and the track is "Scrambler" on their "Motorcycles USA" album.

No question, but just thought I'd point out the origin of this track. Actually, I think what they did with the song was give it the same treatment they gave to "Besame Mucho" cover of the Jet Harris version on their other album - slowed it way down and gave it mucho Bass VI twang. Definitely works!

Man, these videos are great.

I was so floored when I saw them at Tiki Oasis last year. Just so god damn smooth.

Science friction burns my fingers.
