Ok I will probably post this elsewhere so it doesn't get lost here.
But not sure where yet.
I will be making a sign up list.
Dave Wronski asked his boss at Fender if we could do a tour of the Fender Plant, and the Custom Shop.
On Fri. August 6th in the Morning.
the answer is YES!
limit of 25 people,
but maybe if we get more,
they can get another tour guide for the 2nd group.
Then after the Fender Plant Tour,
we can go over to the Fender Museum,
few miles away. Then Back to the Fullerton Museum.
Small display of real early Fender's Projects.
and then Drive by where the old Fender Plant was in Fullerton.
then people can split up and go to the San Diego,
or OC Pre Convention surf shows.
remora1
A tour of the Fender Plant w/ Mr. Wronski? I gotta get on that list!
Sorry Dave is not giving the Tour,
he's gotta be workin,
but I'm sure the tour guide will be very knowledgeable.
and I would assume we would stop by Dave's work bench to say Hi.

I'm down for Fender Corona...count me in!
The tour would make a killer episode of "How It's Made" by the way.

The SG101 convention is lucky to get the place we have AND even then, we gotta be outta there by 8PM so they can bring on a D.J.
That's hard to believe. There were like 300 of us there ... all drinkin' and eating. It took the waitress like 20 minutes to bring you a beer.
How much more business could they do?

Thanks for the invitation, Jeff. Sounds like a great lineup. Aug 7 is on the
calendar. All past health issues are under control. Please count us in for
the Fender Tour, 1 or 2. Our thanks to Dave Wronski for the arrangement.
We'll have cameras in tow!!!!!!!!

Don,
I have talked to the Owner, and asked them to bring in more waitresses for the event.
Hopefully it will be better this year.

My impression was that the waitperson - I think there was just one - was well meaning and conscientious, but basically unable to tell one old gaffer from another. To be fair, we were milling around a bit. It was probably a bit of a Farside experience for her. Perhaps spray painted numbers would help? They could definitely have sold more beverages and food. I did manage to beat the system and get some of both, and apart from the slight difficulties in that area, the venue is absolutely great.

I will ask them to put numbers on the table, and maybe they can write down the orders according to the numbers. and that will help them remember,
speed things up.
but also, more than one waitress will help.

I got the rhythm line on Endless Summer!!!!!!
I'll take the bridge (Hohner Melodica on the original) part with a Rotary Speaker simulator.

I defer. I didn't know there would be a keyboard player.

Last year Karen Dobronyi played that part on a melodica. It was awesome. But...are we even going to do that song again this year?
