I brew my own beer!
I just drink a coors light, wait 15 minutes, piss back in the bottle, and then add about a 1/4 cup of filtered water. It's all good........................;D

I was not happy with the Duvel at all.
is it me or is that an acquired taste beer?
Jeff(bigtikidude)
I think so, but personally I liked it from day one. In fact, I've taken sworn beer plebes and turned them over in just one beer. The only thing that gets me about Duvel is that the stuff expands FAST going down the gullet. It almost hurts. And I only drink it from my special Duvel glass.

I have nothing against high-end beer, but dropping four or five bucks on a pint when you're onstage, and just going to sweat it out, it doesn't make sense. I am a beer fan - everything from Hooegarden to Chimay to Speakeasy or Anchor Steam, even Duvel (it's not just for TFJ anymore), but when I'm onstage, I say "PBR me ASAP!!!!!"
~B~
3 out of 5 Belgian beers - ALL OVER THE PLACE in the netherlands. I actually live less then 10 miles from the Belgian border. all three cost less here then Budweiser, which is considered high end import posh. hahahahahah!
It's also 9pm here right now - maybe I should get me chimay red.... or a chimay blue... or a hoegaarden ... or an Orval.... all plenty available in my cellar.
WR
Yeah, must be nice. I paid 1 euro for Orval this summer when I was in Belgium (I stocked up and got a case), and then we pay neary $5 here in the states for one. Funny thing is, I paid about a euro for a heineken in Amsterdam, and they cost about $.90 here. I'm not quite sure how that works out, but I'll take an Orval over anything, it's the most unusual beer made, except maybe Kriek.
Anyway, as far as cheap beer goes, it's PBR all the way. I love good beer, and I brew my own, but seriously as far as a cheapie american lager goes, you can't beat PBR. It tastes far better than any of those crappy Natural Lights or Milwaukee's Best at about the same price or cheaper. And it tastes a lot better than Bud Light, and a lot cheaper.
By the way, is it just me, or is Rolling Rock really watery tasting recently?

I agree - the Rock has been a bit watery as of late.
Jeff, Duvel is a little bit of an acquired tastes. For me, I had one taste, and was acquired, and I hoped to acquire another taste soon thereafter.
I agree with Richard's assessment of Duvel and it's rate of expansion, though. My one question is -- where did you score a Duvel glass?? I looked all over, and could never get my hands on one!

Little bumpity bump for this.
gonna be going to a English Pub tonight since its cold and rainy,
and gonna have a few pints of Murphy's Irish Stout.
Much smoother and less bitter than Guinness.
Cheers folks.

I went to a superbowl party full of domesticated near-yuppies in their 30s. When I brought Pabst in with me, one person thought it was "fun" another woman thought it was "cute".

nice Jeff, I like Murphy's over Guiness too. more than one guiness always gives me a pukerdy puke aftertaste. Newcaste is my fave english ber though, brown ale, not a stout.

Yeah I like Newcastle alot too.
I was going to try the Oatmeal Stout also,
but after a Chicken Pie, Mashed Potatos, Carrots and Peas, a Murphy's
and 2 shots of Pussers Rum, I was quite done.
next time.

Great stuff, especially in Painkillers.
Beers currently in my fridge are Kalik, Carib, and Virgin Islands Pale Ale. (The latter is actually brewed & bottled in Maine, but similar to the draft available in St. John, VI.)

Not sure if it has been mentioned yet, but Snakebites are good. Made like a Black and Tan, but with Hornsby's Apple Cider and Guinness.

I've always heard a snakebite as being cider and Harp (or Bass), and a Black Velvet being Guiness and cider. Whatever your favorite bar calls it, they are great.

PBR was the brew of choice when I was growing up in South Carolina. Drinking age for beer was 18, although I started a few years early. This song was a favorite on jukeboxes in the mid-70's.

This year on Fourth of July, I made Carolina pulled-pork BBQ, so I had to buy a case of PBR to go with it.

around here the "band beer" at most clubs is PBR. In the 90s it was Leinenkugels. I sure am grateful for the change up. I played in Chicago a couple of weeks ago and again it was PBR. That was a pretty fun gig.

In Austin, it's Lone Star. It's the best cheap beer there is.

Primo Beer from Hawaii is being Brewed again.
you'd think that I would be a Fan, as much of a nut of all things Hawaiian, and it has Sugar Cane juice in it.
but I am not a fan. I like ot call it the PBR of the pacific.
