Holy Crap!!!! The Cowboy Video is too cool, but this Link Wray Medley from the Blank Club is un-freakin'-believable!!!!
I was lucky enough to be there, front and center. Shigeo and the lads definitely peeled the paint clear off the walls!!!!

So is that what the Surf Coasters broke up for? I have to say I was very worried looking at the still of the video while it loaded, but it's actually really cool. And it's neat to see Shigeo do something different. Apparently he can honky tonk as well as he can twang and shred.

In a sense, yeah. Solo projects, session work, etc. was the official company line, I think. I'm pretty sure that video was just a guest appearance, though, since that's the only YouTube video of that band to specifically mention Shigeo in the title. (Maybe not, though--I didn't watch the others.) Apparently his main gig is with the Southern All-Stars.

Ferenc knows better than anyone else on the board, though.

Shigeo is just "sitting in" here. I am always amzed at how versatile that guy is... Right now he is playing some solo shows in Tokyo with Rockin' Enocky and The Whys. I will get a full report of Shigeo's activities in early November.

Wow. I thought that was really... terrible! I hope he didn't give up the Surf Coasters just to sit in with bands like these. As a country guitarist, Shigeo is a good rock guitarist.

Sorry, Ferenc, I hope I don't come off as a dick, you of all people know what a huge fan of Shigeo's I am, but I found that pretty weak...

For awhile my computer was screwed up and I couldn't view video from youtube. now it works and I went to see the promo clips at the Beginning of the thread have been removed from you tube for violations of use. what does that mean?
and where can I see them now?
