Just finished changing the filter caps on my old '65 Bandmaster. Wow! I forgot how good this amp sounds. I bought it new in 1965 in Stuttgart Germany when I was stationed there in the Army. I played it for a couple of years after returning home, but since surf was out and Country or Blues was the only thing going in Bakersfield at the time, I opted for Blues and used a Fender Deluxe.
Well, the old amp just set all those years, so last week I ordered all the caps to bring it back to life. I thought my 63 Reissue Vibroverb sounded pretty good, but this Bandmaster blows it away. I remember now why I had to have it way back then. Sure glad I kept it all these years. Surf is coming back and even an ol' fart like me can still play it. At least I think I can.

You can if you want to, but I doubt we will need it.
However, you may want to bring a guitar stand. I can probably come up with the rest of the stuff we might need. I even have a Squier Jazz bass if 'dp' decides to showup.
Now, where is that drummer?

Well, if you're like me, you'd rather look at pictures than read about it. So, here's a shot of my Bandmaster, pedal board and one of my Jazzmaster's. This one is a MIJ with Seymour Duncan Vintage Pup's, a replacement guard, ( I hated that bright red pickguard that comes stock) all USA electronics and I also installed the cavity tubs for shielding. Probably could have purchased a genuine American made reissue JM for what I have in it, however I ordered it through the Fender Custom Shop in '92 for $499. That was before AVRI JM's ever existed.

PS. I ordered a '63 reissue reverb but it hasn't arrived yet. The Digiverb does a good job at lower volumes but get's noisy as it's cranked up.

Hey Dennis,
Hehehehe! You'd be surprised at what I might pull out of the closet next.
Glad to see you made your way over here to SG101. It's a nice place to hang out.

It does have the muti-voltage selector switch and it looks better in person than it does in pictures. It's the cleanest Bandmaster I've ever seen. So many have been parted out and this one is still a matched head and cabinet. Oh, and it sounds as good as it looks.
