I predict success. I’ve owned a couple of guitars with Fender Noiseless pickups, and the Jeff Beck Strats I’ve played have always sounded good.

I would never really have considered of doing this pickup exchang, if it were not for the outrageous deal I got on a set on eBay.
Of the 3 in set, the neck was DOA as advertised. The middle (which is the same a neck) and the Bridge were 100% working and both test out to 10.4Ohm.
So what else can you do with only 2 good PUs?
Cost $110 total which is same as a set of AVRI Jaguar PUs.
Brand new JB Noiseless complete sets go for $300.
My only challenge other than carving out the body cavities was how to mount them.
Much was considered.
The direction I chose today was to make a raised cover from an old Strat pickguard.
I glued these onto the top of a standard Jag pickguard.
I think it came out better than expected.
I should have no problem using standard pickguard mounting hardware at this point.

It's a Bachi, the pick used for a Shamisen. An anime bassist used one for a really interesting vibe, I wondered if that was just a visual gag or if they might have actually recorded like that - so I decided to print one and try it. Seems I'm not the only one with that idea, anyway.

So far a bit hit and miss on the Daisy Rock - there's not a lot of space around the pickups. Sounds cool though.

Ok. I have seen one of those before. With recent Asian ancestry in one branch of my family tree, I am fascinated by all things Asian, so I have to say that this is very cool. If it proves impractical for playing, it’s still an interesting curiosity to have around the house.

As for the "girlfriend from Japan".. my partner is Japanese, but has lived in the US most of her life. Her ancestry and place of birth doesn't exactly have a daily bearing on our lives. Everything she's into from Japan, there's something similar from my life - One Piece to Bocchi, Udon to Tofu, Kawasaki to Suzuki. So you might be setting yourself up for unexpected mundanity if you're hoping that your partner will arrive in a furisode and perform gidayū. ;P

My Japanese girlfriend comment was entirely tongue in cheek. I am of 1/8 Asian ancestry, which is to say that I am mostly Caucasian in appearance, with the exception of my eyebrows, which are directly from the Gobi.

The Asian ancestry in my family was kept as a family secret for years; a rumor that was denied, in spite of the fact that my grandmother and at least one uncle and one aunt had an epicanthic fold on their eyelids. A DNA test confirmed the rumor and eventually I was able to pry the truth out of the family history.

I hold no preconceptions about Asian culture. Beneath the surface, all cultures, earthwide, have an exceptional degree of similarity. We may adapt to local conditions; for example, a culture which forms in a costal area will develop a different economy from a desert culture, but the basic rules are pretty similar.

I worked on an Indian Reservation for nearly two decades. The striking thing about being exposed to their culture, was how American they were. Backyard cookouts and pot luck gatherings were part of their culture, long before they were exposed to European immigrants. The American frontiersman was an amalgam of British and Native American influences. At the bottom of it all, humans are pretty much the same, everywhere.
