Next up, I have a 2pc Alder Jag body with a swimming pool route. Going to hit it with Wizard Blizzard flake, which is 2 sizes of silver with a little bit of blue flake mixed in.

Oh noo! Next time it'll come out perfect though!

It kind of reminds me of the prettiest Squier finish (The Spark Jaguar is overall the prettiest guitar, but just considering paint it's this!) of all time:

Holoflake Showmaster; seriously the best finish. In the right light, it would develop a rainbow sheen just like the colours on your Superstrat body.

I love Holo Flake for sure, and I do have a few jars of it. There are 2 schools of thought with flake, you either shoot it over a black base-coat, or a matching colour base-coat. Black is good because it absorbs light and really make the flake pop, but I find the end result looks like salt n' pepper. In the case of silver or holo flake I prefer to shoot it over a silver base-coat. However, Roth has a holo flake called Speedball, and that looks absolutely amazing over black.

I'm looking forward to how that Jaguar turns out!

Love a spark Jag me, looking forward to seeing it. Where did you get this body, TBomb don't make a Jag, do they?

Yep - got that from TBomb. I Got a few of them in my last batch.

Huh weird, they only list JM, Tele, Strat and Wolfgang on the site.

Don't suppose they do a VI?

The list of body styles I was given a few years ago are:

Strat
Tele
Jazzmaster / Telemaster
Mustang II
Les Paul jr. for Fender style necks
Wolfgang for Fender style necks

But I did ask for, and got the Jags about 9 months ago. If you contact them with whatever style you have in mind, they might be able to accommodate.

I'm making two Epiphones surf friendly. The Les Paul and SG will both have Jaguar tremolo tailpieces and rocking bridges. The SG will have Pure Vintage '65 Jaguar pickups. The LP will retain the bridge humbucker, but with split coils and a 5-way switch for either coil, both parallel and both series. Both will have glitter finishes--red for the SG and gold for the LP. Here's the LP in progress.

If I'd stop buying old guitars to fix, I might actually learn to play.

At least the net surf-paul is trending up today, thank you for countering my evil.

Got to ask though, why did you go Jaguar trem?

Jaguar trem? I like how they work while playing, they're inexpensive, the routing is straightforward and I like how they look on a guitar.

I never gave the Les Trem a thought, though I've heard good things about them. My Les Paul is a Jr, so it had a wrap around bridge and no separate tailpiece.

This doesn't look like much now and it won't look like much when it's done, either, but the utility will be profound.

I'm working on swapping a collapsible 1968 steering column into my 1966 GTO to replace the long steel spear that GM was installing up until 1967 when the government told them maybe they shouldn't do that anymore.

The safety column is slightly larger in diameter and its mounting system is much bulkier so the c-channel reinforcing bar that runs along the bottom of the dash and then loops up over the column is different, using a wider loop. Shown here is the original I've cut out of my car and the mockup I've created from a Simpson strap to confirm the dimensions.

I also had to swap in a pedal hanger from a 1967 GTO to accompany the new column and was unpleasantly surprised to find that it needed to mount through the firewall 1/2" to the left to keep the column centered where it's meant to be. So patching and redrilling happened.

I recently scored this 1964-only 4-spoke sport wheel for stupid cheap so it's providing me extra incentive to get this cumbersome and vexing task completed. Cutoff wheels under the dash while lying on my back, welding in extremely tight confines, trying to design pieces that never went together from the factory...

Well, I may get bit graphical, but here's another 6G15 clone. Easy and fun project, and the result... priceless!
