Permalink Palm Mute for Piano

A pedal that gives a grand piano a "palm mute" option. Reminds me of a harp and a Wurlitzer electric piano at the same time. Could use some spring reverb.

The Exotic Guitar of Kahuna Kawentzmann

You can get the boy out of the Keynes era, but you can’t get the Keynes era out of the boy.

Nils Frahm’s album ‘felt’ is what got me into his music. Back then he was just putting a piece of felt between the hammers on an upright to practice quietly. the muted piano, and entire album, is SO strikingly beautiful.

I knew it had to be him before I even read the youtube title.

We were supposed to have Olafur Arnalds and Nils before the pandemic hit. I hope they try to tour here again someday.

Reminds me of the sound of the Kyoto. A local band, Hiroshima, features the Kyoto and June is one of the best players in the world.

Happy Sunsets!
