The Peavey Black Widow 1501-4, Eminence Eps-15c, and JBL E130/140 are all high wattage options I have used in various cabs with good results |

Good suggestions. https://www.tubeampdoctor.com/en/jensen-c15k-15-100w You won't be dissappointed. Probably available in May AND in Europe. Cheers, |

I have a 15" 175 watt Weber California in my 1x15 cab. Mine is 8 Ohm, but they could easily build you a 4 Ohm version. I am extremely happy with this speaker. —MooreLoud.com - A tribute to Dick Dale. New videos uploaded |

I fully understand what a loaded and ridiculous question this is, but are there any vague and generic adjectives you might want to use to compare this speaker with a Jensen? I am now very hot to take out the 212 inch speakers and put in a single 15 on one of my silver face twins. If that goes well, I may even do it to the brown twin! —Daniel Deathtide |

I have been trying to buy a Steelaire speaker for a LOOOOONG time. If you look closely at the website, there is no button to buy it. I wrote to Matt Quilter and he checked with Pat. Pat assured that the speaker is not discontinued, but rather, supply chain issues are causing them to be unavailable. When they become available the web page will be updated with the buy option. Quite a few pedal steel players, including me, use one of these Telonics neodymium magnet speakers in either 12" or 15" 4 Ohm versions - https://www.telonics.com/products/proaudio/speakers-enclosures.php - if I like something for pedal steel loud and clean, I will generally like it for surf guitar loud and clean. 300 Watt power handling, the 15" version weighs 7-3/4 pounds. Clean, clean, clean. Sort of JBL-like, but not a clone. I think a bit less efficient than a JBL D130F or K130, but also handles a lot more power. Maybe a bit more sparkly on the top with a bit less upper midrange honk than my JBLs. And a helluvalot lighter obviously. The Steelaire speaker is also very good. I know quite a few steel players using Steelaires, the amp is also very good for loud and clean but not obnoxiously brittle. The Quilter stuff is very good sounding - I use a Tone Block 201 sometimes, with the Telonics speaker. It cuts both pedal steel and guitar very nicely. BTW - Steelaire speakers occasionally show up on the Steel Guitar Forum every once in a while. More common to see the whole amp, but some players yank the stock speaker in favor of the Telonics, and sell the speaker. —The Delverados - surf, punk, trash, twang - Facebook |

Following up on a couple of posts above: I have used a Weber California 15" for years, and still love it. High volume gigs have not been a problem for it, and it provides great, deep cleans. |

fenderfan, I couldn't be happier with my 175 watt Weber California. I crank my 6G14 to 7-8, and it just sounds glorious. It even looks like a JBL speaker through the grill cloth with the aluminum dust cap! —MooreLoud.com - A tribute to Dick Dale. New videos uploaded |

This speaker sounds nothing like a Jensen. It's similar to a JBL but actually a lot fatter and smoother. No ice pick highs even with the aluminum dome. I've owned a Weber California too and thought it was a bit sterile and ice picky. |

I highly recommend it. Sounds great with every amp I've played it through. |
