Nice! Reminds me of the Jokers in the way it takes a tune from another genre and brings it into the surf zone. I’ve played that song a zillion times in straight jazz groups. This really shines a light on Monk’s playful side. At first I thought ya’ll dumped the melody altogether cause it grooved a pretty long time before it came in. Very fun! Great performance! — |
